DxJxC has given the correct answer. However, if you view the Scimitar of Speed, it should show up in the Bonus Action tab, but it does not. And if you create a homebrew copy of the scimitar, you'll see its only modifier is the +2 to damage and attack. So it looks like D&D Beyond hasn't implemented the code necessary for this trait yet.
The dual wield option would not show bonus to damage unless they have the two weapon feat, so I would recommend making a homebrew feat and adding in a bonus action weapon attack under the "Action" section of the feat. (You can use the Polearm Master feat as a reference when you make it.) Doing that will show it under the bonus action section, and will have the correct to hit and damage stats.

Yeah, items can't create actions. It is a missing feature that needs added.

Technically, they would need the 2 weapon fighting style, not the feat, but good point and good work around.

I saw this suggestion in a previous post but I have put a lot of effort into making the item in homebrew, as far as I saw there was no way to add in a created item. In a custom feat you can just add a custom action, not use an item as a bonus action. If that makes sense?
It makes sense, but the feat action workaround is currently the only way for it to show under the "bonus actions" section of the character sheet. Visually, it will look exactly the same as if the item could be brewed in as a bonus action. Is there something more you are trying to show in the "action" field of the sheet in addition to name/to hit/damage/dmg type? If you are looking for it to be a clickable link on the name to the weapon vs the action, that can't currently happen. But at least the sheet will have it as a reminder if viewing bonus actions.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up adding a custom action which you can put in the bonus action slot. B&D Beyond please add this functionallity to homebrew! <3

They need to add the function, period. There are official items (like the scimitar of speed mentioned) that are supposed to add actions that don't. The reason homebrew can"t is because official can't.

Is there anyway to modify a homebrewed weapon so that it shows up in the 'Bonus Actions' section?
Or does anyone have any work arounds other than 'remember it's a bonus action'?
When you equip it to the character click customize and dual wield.

Dual Wield doesn't appear for the items I have created. They are based of a musket and a blowgun.

Ah. Ranged weapon, no dual wield.
Your options are either homebrew feat or just noted on item and make custom action.
