So from every book that is out what are your top 3 favorite cantrips you would always take for a warlock since eldritch blast is already great damage! Yes I am including the newest wild mounts spell that does necrotic damage and can knock someone prone. I have all the books atm that are currently out and have the okay of a DM so feel free to bring forth the best of the best cantrips for me to pick!
Prestidigitation. I am of the opinion that every arcane caster should have Prestidigitation unless you have an explicit reason not to take it (like, you're playing an Arcane Trickster and you need Mage Hand, Minor Illusion, and an offensive spell cause you're playing a ninja.)
Eldritch Blast... because duh. If you're not taking Eldritch Blast, even as a backup option...
Mage Hand, if you don't take Presti, if only because it can be used to set off traps and stuff.

thanks atm my DM gave me the okay to play a Draconblood (dragon born variant from wild mount) and use spell choices from dunamancy, Playing royalty who was meant to take his fathers seat among the high council governing his kingdom... but when his family was assassinated because his father stood between the corrupt politicians and the citizens he nearly died due to a gut wound but survived when an archfey he befriended before made a pact with him and saved him sending him to a near forest where a women was traveling. She saved him treating his wound as he was bleeding badly. Now he is traveling with her helping her avenge her murdered son while seeking to gain enough political power and possibly his own men to help him take back and save his kingdom along with the people him and his father cared so deeply for.
Minor Illusion is excellent and has a billion uses both in and out of combat.
After that things get more open. Hexblades/Pact of the Blade warlocks may like one of the Blade cantrips to augment their melee abilities in the early game and their AoOs once they get War Caster. If your DM allows UA content, Mind Sliver is a *very* good cantrip when used with the right spells or paired up with other casters; being able to help force that save-or-die spell through can be way more helpful than some extra damage. Even outside Sliver in particular it can often be wise to have a second cantrip that can target a save, so you have a solution to high-AC enemies. This is a little less relevant on the Warlock because of just how absurdly good Eldritch Blast is, but it can still matter so Toll the Dead is a pretty reasonable choice as well.
If you don't need another battle cantrip for whatever reason - and there are many, don't feel like you inherently have to take one - then I'd probably wind up leaning on Prestidigitation. Not quite as handy as Minor Illusion, but it does a pretty reasonable range of things for its price tag.
I have to admit, I’ve never played a Warlock without taking Eldritch Blast because it’s the best combat cantrip in the game.
Other than that, I tend to take a variety of cantrips depending on my character’s back story, patron, and planned pact. I always take a damage dealing cantrip by 5th level that requires a saving throw in addition to the attach roll that Eldritch Blast requires. Other than that I lean towards cantrips that have multiple uses and are flexible.
Mage Hand can spread cantrips in combat, open doors from 30 feet away, and even open latches to open windows from the outside.
Mending can be used to fix a window or door that you break open after you let yourself in someplace that you’re not supposed to be.
Minor Illusion is only limited by your imagination. I’m looking forward to using it to create an illusion of a tower shield in combat and hiding behind it. Not to mention using it to make an open window look like it’s closed, etc..
Fire Bolt and Bonfire both affect objects as well as creatures, and they’re the only cantrips that I’m familiar with that effectively affect both creatures and objects.
If you’re playing Pact of the Blade, Booming Blade and/or Green Flame Blade are great choices, but otherwise they’re weak options.
My suggestion, since Warlock’s are basically cantrip casters with a couple of spells and other abilities, is try to pick cantrips that can have multiple uses and be creative with how you use them.

Eldritch Blast is the obvious.

Besides eldritch blast?
I snagged chill touch, my tiefling came with thaumaturgy, but minor illusion, prestidigitation, and mage hand are all top choices.
The three cantrips i'd chose with pact of the tome would be guidance, shocking grasp, and vicious mockery.
