Hi, I'm currently having a ton of difficulty using the map tool from Roll20, on different computer systems, so I was hoping to find out a different map tool, that does more or less the same as in Roll20 but isn't so clunky... Just need to be able to upload a map, add player tokens and add encounter tokens (mobs) and allow me to share it...
Honestly, I gave up with Roll20 Maps and I just created a blank battle map and then I'd draw in the content. Other times what I've done is use graph paper and just drawn it out scan it as a PDF and then work within Roll20 to get the boxes lined up as best as I could.
I have seen Cartographer 3 from ProFantasy.com they have a dungeon designer for it which they tell you how to convert it into Roll20. It looks complicated but the results are impressive depending on how much time you put into it.
Dungeon draft and world draft are good. I use those and wrote my own program for tokens and stuff.
Wow, I just checked it out and it looks very straight forward mapping tool compared to Cartographer.
It's so much easier. I really struggled with Cartographer but after a very small learning curve, both Dungeon Draft and Wonder Draft are a relative breeze to use. There are also a TON of free assets out there for Wonder Draft, and plenty being made for Dungeon Draft now as well.

I know I asked this but do you import the maps into any of the VTT? Especially any of the dungeon maps?

Yeah I've used the maps I made in Wonderdraft (some underdark/cave style maps) in roll20 with no problems at all. They also work in Foundry without issue
Foundry has a DungeonDraft importer that works, as near as I can tell, almost perfectly. Not only will you get the image in but it will automatically do doors, walls, etc. It won't do "terrain walls" and specialty things but those are not that big of a deal.
Also, any VTT can import nearly any image as a png or jpg.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.

I'm curious, for like Dungeon of the Mad Mage, do you load the entire map into the VTT and then maybe add tokens when in a room that a fight breaks out in ?
I've been using dungeonfog for a few weeks now. It's interface can be quirky at times, but making maps is a breeze and it does have a virtual tabletop. Players can't move their own tokens yet, but the dm can move it and it shows on the player viewer. I don't want to say that I'm in love with it, but it's better than anything I've found so far. CC3 will probably be great for map making once I can figure it out . . . there's been a lot of rage quitting over CC3.

Anyone know of such a tool?
I'm working on that but ain't ready yet.
Did you look at this thread

To make maps, Dungeondraft is my go-to these days. It's only like $30.
To run a VTT, I prefer Foundry. Most intuitive of the ones I have tried, though that admittedly does not include R20.

Does DnDBeyond have a VTT?
No

Just curious but, what exactly is causing you problems with maps in Roll20?

Can you share your program?
I am trying to upload my maps, but one of them is too big... so its not loading it.

Could I get copy to see if I can load it into my vtt ?
Yeah, they advise that you split extra large maps into 2 or 4 parts. It works pretty well. Most maps I use are scaled to 400ft by 400ft.
