I read that the D&D Beyond campaign/adventure purchases have all the content of the physical books, and I assume this would include maps. Are these high-resolution maps, and are they exportable to other programs (Gimp or Photoshop, in example) so that I could add Fog layers and the like?
I'm wanting to buy Tomb of Annihilation, and I'm debating what format - I love having the hardcovers of the book, but if the digital maps through D&D Beyond are high res, I'll take that over the hard cover any day of the week.

Yes, in DDB you can have all the maps in high res.
You left-click on them to open them in the light-box. Then you can open in a new tab (where they will be in high res) and save them.
EDIT: Moreover, you have both the DM and player versions of the maps.
Thank you for such a quick response - I know where I'm buying my campaigns from now on =)
