Hello, first post. Talked to my DM and since druids get their versatility destroyed at higher levels (lvl 14 and already feeling it) he has offered me a choice. By versatility I mean that at cr 4 or higher you have very little options if you dont want to loose stats in the wildshape form.
Either way he has offered me to the following:
You gain proficiency with the nature skill (doubled if you already have proficiency).
Spells and abilities that are restricted to only beasts (eg polymorph, wild shape, conjure animals, locate animals) or only humanoids (eg. hold person, charm person, simulacrum, animate dead) can now be extended with the addition of two of the following creature types: oozes, giants, undead, plants, constructs, monstrosities, dragons (dragons count as 2).
Note: A creature from this list would have advantage on saving throws for any effects that originally couldn’t target it (eg. casting hold person on a xenomorph). However: All other creature types on the list have advantage on attack rolls against you.
So my question to you is: Which ones would you pick and why? You can either pick 2 from the list or pick dragons.
oozes get my vote, if for no other reason than Gaunadaur is my favourite god/deity/GOO in the game and I'd be interested in seeing a Druid wildshape into a Gelatinous Cube or Black Pudding.

Well, I could only pick one option so I picked Monstrosities.
I picked monstrosities because they are stronger then beasts and while many monstrosities are creatures of magic, many of them live as regular parts of the ecosystem as they have been around for so long that they are often times found semi-commonly in the world.

"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
I like oozes a lot but they only go up to cr10 and I'm already lvl 14 so i could only polymorph into cr10 oozes....
Wildshape is vastly different from Polymorph. With Wildshape, at best you could only morph into a best with a CR half your character level with Circle of the Moon. Otherwise, you can only morph into CR1 specimens using Wildshape regardless of character level if you are a Druid of any other Circle.
Plants and oozes. Anything else is hard to justify thematically: monstrosities maybe, but intelligent creatures like giants/dragons would just be creepy. And undead? Constructs? Druid magic is kind of opposed to those.

Thanks in advance,
Shadow
More elementals!
Also dragons, as a draconic druid sounds awesome!
Always bugged me that druid can't turn into owlbears. It seems thematic.
Monstrosities would be my first choice.
Dragons would be my second choice.

Characters for Tenebris Sine Fine

Plants makes the most sense.
"Sooner or later, your Players are going to smash your railroad into a sandbox."
-Vedexent
"real life is a super high CR."
-OboeLauren
"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
-Ilyara Thundertale
Okay but forget about thematically speaking. Focus on stats and versatility. And if you do choose please elaborate on your choice. Thanks
So nobody gonna vote? XD

It is either pick 2 options or pick dragons, so I'd be able to play monstrosities and plants for example or only dragons.
Still unsure as to what I should pick
I like oozes a lot but they only go up to cr10 and I'm already lvl 14 so i could only polymorph into cr10 oozes....
Most is not on the poll but -

Dragons; though monstrosities would offer far more versitility, dragons give massive power play options.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
