Glad I read your feature list, was about to start building the folder thing into my plugin as well.
The plugin looks great by the way!
Thanks for the feedback! I image now there are more people build atop DDB they will consider making a official API. Then things will become funnier =}.
I would love for an easy way to get the AC some other stats. I was looking at the JSON file for characters, but that means I would have to calc it all out. I was kinda hoping some stats would have been in there.
I would have been perfect for my initiative tracker. I wanted to see my players combat.
I am actually looking through your code, to see how your saving data in google storage. I keep running outta space and it's stopping the plugin from saving stuff to storage, but your plug seems to be way more complicated than mine and you are doing it just fine. haha. So I am trying to see what you did.
Yes there are some limits on chrome.storage.sync. On the future I plan to use both chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local to expand the available size. Like use the local one for the extension usage and from time to time update the sync one with a compressed version. Maybe this solution could fit well your needs, or if the sync is not too important use local one and that is it.
Yeah, because I am trying to save my initiative tracker so that when people switch tabs they don't have to rebuild everything. I am also new to chrome extensions so I am doing everything wrong of course. haha.
I am actually trying to see if I can build encounters so people can save thins and easily add monsters to the initiative tracker. That way you don't have to add monsters everytime
I didn't even think to use local. I could do that because where your's seems like something meant to track over time, mine is more of a way to do a single fight. I kinda wish one plugin could pull from another, it would be cool if I could pull encounters from your plugin and show them in my initiative tracker.
That was incredibly timely, when i can pry my computer from my nephews i will check it out. : )
By the way, thank you very much for this very helpful tool. I picked it up to get a little help with creature management and discovered it had a number of other things i yearned for. In particular I had just gotten to a point where I had too many characters to manage them effectively. Installed the plugin and had a Jack Skellington moment "Whats this, WHATS THIS!" It was nice to be able to put all my unfinished npcs away from sight till I need them, and move some players to the top. Thank you.

You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."

I am glad I could help. Thanks for the feedback. =}
Also it is possible to add homebrews too like Ancient Red Hydragon. Use with care, those ones can stop to work if DDB staff changes the implementation of tooltips. Also tooltips of private creation are only viewable by the creator, not even by people that are on the same campaign with sharing enabled.
I think this is the last version of the year (unless a bugfix needs attention later today). So happy new year DDB people!!
I'm going to go play around with the update, thanks and have a wonderful new year.

Is more like add popups of homebrews, both public homebrew from the lists (magic items, monsters and spells). And the ones you create or add into your collection.
I added the collection option because there is a trick on DDB homebrews. The lists shows the latest version of a homebrew. But you can add any version to your collection. I am not sure what happens when you have a public homebrew on your collection and new version of it comes out. But for instance you can have more than one version of a homebrew added on collection like Zato's Chaos Spike (v2.1) and Zato's Chaos Spike (v2.2) <- both added with the extension plugin button from my own homebrew collection.
Its also wise mention there is currently a bug on DDB on homebrew collection more info here.
Now it is possible to add tooltips of backgrounds and feats (and their homebrew options). A user without the extension will see just a green link to the details page of a feat or background.
Is always important to remember that these extra tooltips may cease to work if the implementation of tooltips changes on DDB. Also tooltips of private creation are only viewable by the creator, not even by people that are on the same campaign with sharing enabled.
Hi guys!! Just a heads up, Http/Https bug was fixed on v0.7.4.
Looks like you got the tooltips working, wonderful.

Continuing on the line of helpers for campaign preparation/management now it is possible to add references to compendium sections that are also tooltips:
Rituals <-- just a green link for non extension users, but a tooltip if you have Beyond Help
New version 0.9.0. First change is the fullscreen button enabled on the editors of the site. It will make easier to edit big contents on the campaign page (or on the forum).
The second new feature a a tab on the Beyond Help editor dialog that make it easier to add rollable tables. This will help on campaign preparation and also for creating homebew. Table example:
d2
Result
1
Meh...
2
Awesome!!!
Also a small video showing the new features:
Well the table do not look too good on forum. I will take a look into it.
Update: Table style is better on forums for extension users.
And I cast Heroism on the community.

Maybe that is possible, there is cross extension messaging: https://developer.chrome.com/apps/messaging#external. I think, i can make some kind of api to access the encounters.

Apperently I need to read more into making chrome extensions, this is my first jab at it. So it has been a learning experience.

Good news everyone!
New version of BH with a small feature that saves scroll position on the extension popup.
And a brand new cool feature, now on all editors of the site there will be a new button on toolbar that enables to add tooltips like:
Ammunition (Firearms) <- I did not even know this one was a tooltip.
Or Heroism!
Also it is possible to add homebrews too like Ancient Red Hydragon. Use with care, those ones can stop to work if DDB staff changes the implementation of tooltips.
