They're supposed to be a lot like a spell scroll in that each is a specific one-use spell effect. However, upon equipping them for a character, I can't seem to find a way to tie them to a specific spell.
I tried just customizing by putting the name of the associated spell under Notes.
That worked. But then a couple of days later, it appeared to have just self-deleted. I'll try that again...but I'd hate to have to refix it periodically.
I suppose I could also homebrew a Copied version and add the spell that way. Just wondering if I'm overlooking an option.
Are you making each one of these a homebrew creation? if so, you have the option to say what spell is cast from it. You could set 1 charge (consumable) on them.
Well, my hope was to not have to make a homebrew creation for each. It's easy enough, I was just wondering whether there was another way to designate a specific spell w/out making a homebrew.

I've always gone to Custom, then NAME, and typed in the spell name. Never had an issue, even when they were just UA items
I would definitely Homebrew this... but, instead of doing them individually, I would add the information for each under one item. Mainly because of Attunement rules and how tattoos work with it (that they collectively only take up one attunement slot). Just add the different spells and that they can be used once per day or short rest or whatever.

Spellwrought tattoos don't require attunement

I've made a Homebrew shield tattoo but it won't let me publish because it's to close to the spell Shield... Any workarounds?
You don't need to publish it if you just want to use it in your campaign.
