Javelin of Lightning: "The javelin's property can't be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon. Proficiency with a javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it".
Question: This javelin can be retrieved and thrown again as a magic weapon.... so, +1 to Hit & Attack when used this way?
... Also, maybe I'm reading to much a Javelin is a simple Melee weapon (as it is categized) it makes a 1d6 melee attack correct?

No, in 5e weapons can be magical (and therefore bypass resistances and immunities) without giving bonuses to hit and damage. For example the Flame Tongue is a very powerful sword but which still gives no bonuses to hit or damage.
I assume you mean when Flame Tongue is not lit it does not do the extra damage? Otherwise it does the extra 2d6 fire damage when lit.
