Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: In Person, I don't really have and am not currently interested in buying the needed equipment for online play, I have other more important things that need purchasing. Plus I've never been a fan of that style for a few reasons. Experience: Never played a game, but I know the rules and just generally how to play. Location/Timezone: Bakersfield, California. DM location is irrelevant so long as it's in Bakersfield, i'll drive wherever i've gotta drive. Availability: Due to my working evenings monday-friday, i'm ALWAYS available on weekends at any time, though most reliably in evenings, as now and then I go into work weekend mornings just to get in extra hours. Generally speaking any time on the weekends is something I can work around, where my working hours during the week are set in stone. Preferred role: Player. I've never DM'd and really wouldn't have a clue where to start. It's something I'd be open to doing in the future, but I absolutely need a base level experience in-game before I even think about consuming my life with world-building and stuff which is what'll happen.
Health Concerns: Do not be worried, I've been fully vaccinated for covid19, zero complications, never even caught it to begin with either. So I am completely safe to RP with at the table.
Additional Preferences or Limitations: Honestly I'm a pretty sturdy person, you can TRY to gross me out or scare me off, adding in horror elements or whatever. I'd just roll with the punches. The only thing that would push me away is a bad DM. Bad players can be dealt with individually without effecting the entire game, but a bad DM isn't something you can just shrug off. Disclaimer for DMs, don't worry i'm not expecting you to be Matt Mercer, don't feel that type of pressure at least.
All I'm really looking for is some new friends, a bunch of dice, some more dice, seriously excessive numbers of dice, and a fun time adventuring and socializing with my pals.
I'm 24 years old, so if you wish to add some risque content i'm fine with that as well, and I'm not the type to shove it into games where other people aren't interested in it. Everything has its place, and I'll not step on anyone's toes. I'm not shy about these things is what i'm expressing, so if your group is or isn't let me know and i'll meld with that.
In terms of characters, i'll build something particular if the existing group could really use it, like if they really need a healer I'll make a snazzy cleric happily. I do have my own characters I'm interested in, I've made a handful. The one I'd most like to start with if possible is a human Wizard, Order of the Scribes subclass. The subclass can be changed if absolutely necessary, but it's a pretty simple character. He's basically screaming "starter character". He'd make a PERFECT level 1 character. I am more than willing to start at level 1 by the way, or level 2 or 3 as well. If need be I can build a higher level character, but only if it's really needed, experiencing the lower levels of play first is something I'd be grateful to start with.
Homebrew: I love Homebrew, I encourage it to be used where it's best to. An obnoxious amount of super annoying Homebrew, like things that just artificially inflate the difficulty for no reason, would probably get annoying. But sensible Homebrewing is always welcome. Basically if there's a good reason for it, I'm all for it. Just explain whatever the Homebrew is and why it's there and I'll roll with it. However I'd appreciate it if I was allowed (assuming I'm a wizard class) to do a little bit of homebrewing as well, like making small spells or a particular magic item or two. Nothing broken or crazy, just small things like, taking the Alarm spell and attaching it to a chest permanently to always know if someone opened it without the password. Basically I would like the freedom to use the existing spells and do more long term things with them, that always makes this stuff more immersive and interesting. Again, I'm not an *******, I won't try to make crazy stuff like a staff of 6th level fireballs that has 1000 charges and no restrictions on how many you can use in a turn. In fact, I'll probably NEVER make combat items except like, trying to enchant fire damage onto the rogue's dagger, or adding force damage to the barbarian's warhammer. Obviously all these things would come a little later, as the character gets more funds and resources. Nobody's getting custom enchanted items at level 2, I'm well aware even simple stuff should be relatively expensive, like that alarm chest alone should probably cost a couple hundred gold and take a few days of work to complete. Also, you need a CHEST to use as well, obviously. So would probably need to buy or loot that. If you're willing to let me make more potent magic items, that's great, but make it a CHALLENGE for me. Like the thing I want requires me to delve into a jungle and slay a specific beast because its blood is needed as a catalyst. I'm in it for the LOOOOOOOOOONG run, I'll play 1 character for 3 years if the game is fun.
I've rambled on enough, you know where I am, you've hopefully got a grasp of generally what I'm willing to play (everything) and what content I would accept (all of it) as well as my specific but not required desires (wizard farmboy). For ending things, I'm happy to spend some money in this venture. I'm not loaded, but if there's a group item being worked towards, I'm happy to help out. I can bring snacks or something now and again, and I have a 3D printer so if the other members are willing to chip in a small amount of money, like 5 bucks each even, we could have basically unlimited printed minis. They'd need painting though since they'd just come out pure white. Also I'd need an .stl file made as I'm not really a 3D Modeler, I just have the equipment to print the things. But finding models is EASY, so if you really want to throw a custom painted Tarrasque at us......... please don't make me print our own destruction, I wanna live.
No, seriously, I CAN print a Tarrasque if you need one, even though self preservation tells me not to.
Hello, I’m a DM in Bakersfield and I’m looking to start a new game soon now that the pandemic thing is getting done. It’ll be in person and I it’ll basically be for new players :)
That sounds fantastic. I have been itching to actually play and not just watch basically for several months now.
As stated above I don't mind driving to the game, I'm well versed in the rules, my schedule is pretty open and consistent and as soon as I do some minor repairs to my printer making minis is back on the table. To discuss further send me a PM where I can give you my discord if you want to use that, or whatever other medium you prefer.
I’m also looking to join a group here and seeing as this is a fairly recent post I think I should throw my own shot into it I ain’t a new player but if you want an semi experienced hand I would love to join y’all

Do you speak Italian?
No, just English.
