High in the icy peaks of the Storm Horn mountains, something is causing trouble for the town of Refuge down below. Months ago it was strange lights in the sky, but more recently there have been attacks in the night on travelers and local livestock as well as strange rumblings and unexpected avalanches along usually safe trails. Just last week the town's temple to Lliira (Goddess of Joy, represented by a triangle of three six-pointed stars) was devastated by a beam of light from the heavens themselves, leaving only ruin in its wake. The townsfolk are on edge, and with the stonefruit harvest quickly approaching, they have sent out a call to adventurers far and wide to come save them before more tragedy befalls their formerly quiet town.
Anyway, I'm looking to put together a crew of four to five 3rd level characters to try out this little one-shot I've been tinkering with for a while. Character specs are mostly limited to what you can build in the DDB Builder using official content. For my own ease, I'd prefer AL standards (so nothing more complex than PHB +1 other source).
If you are interested, feel free to leave a character concept. If there are any questions, I'll be glad to answer what I can up front. I'll get a party selected by Friday at the latest, though sooner if there are more than enough options, and we'll get cracking on this mountain mystery shortly thereafter.
I reside in the Central time zone and can monitor the game thread throughout most of the day. I'd prefer it if my players can post at least once a day during the week and I understand if weekends are a bit spotty. Of course, the more we all post, the faster we can run through this adventure.
So, with all that out of the way, the town of Refuge begs your help. Who is willing to step up to the task?

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Sure, I'll bite. I've been wanting to roll a dwarven barbarian up for a while now and this provides me a handy excuse. I'm on that Central European Time tip though, which basically just means I'll be most active in the morning and early afternoon (from your perspective). I'll roll her up properly later today, if that is Cool for You. Posting once a day is an easy goal to hit as I mean, I'm posting from work right now.
I've never done D&D as a play by post thing, but I assume we'd just use the forum's dice roller and such for combat and ability checks and that sort of thing?
I'm in for it. I will create a character for this and submit it for your approval. Dragonborn storm sorcerer sounds like a good fit. His name is Mirabel.
One other question - do you want us to roll up stats (like so: 13, 8, 12, 8, 7, 14 (I just wanted an excuse to fiddle with this)) or use array or point buy or some other method I can't think of off the top of my head for our characters? I'm a sucker for rolling actual dice for character creation but I"ll do whatever you prefer.
Works for me. I'll roll her up at level three. Kathra Torun is gonna slap some evil lights around. You can slap evil lights, right? Well, she'll try anyway.

Bump back to page one to catch the morning crowd.

Pretty much, yes.
Word! I'm in.
Great! We find three or four more folks and we can get rolling.

Seems good.

I prefer the common stat array as it pretty much offers a balanced start and keeps everyone on the same ground statistically.

Sounds like a plan. I'll pass out the campaign link when we get to four people.
I was thinking of a Tortle Monk... would love to give a whirl if that’s okay...
Maybe? I have not really had a chance to look at the Tortles, as they were part of an odd side-package adventure that I did not pick up.
Honestly I just am wanting to toy with an awkward monk - so how about a Goliath or Half Orc Monk?
Either of those are fine.
Great - I’ll make a Goliath Monk then, named Thont!
Alright, we're looking for about one or two more players. Right now the party looks to be made up of:
And bump back to page one for the evening crowd.
Good morning thread. Looks like we didn't pick up anyone new last night. Still looking for one or two more players.
