In a land where even the gods are bound by oaths and prophecies...
At the dawn of time, a war between the gods and Titans left the world of Thylea forever changed. Thousands of years later, the first mortals arrived, carried by ship and dragon.
The Dragonlords were the champions who overthrew the Titans 500 years ago and forged the Oath of Peace. But the power of the Oath has waned, and now the Titans seek vengeance.
You are one of the heroes called by prophecy to end the conflict once and for all. Poets will sing of your deeds for centuries to come... if you survive.

Hello everyone!
I am looking for one player to join an Odyssey of the Dragonlords campaign that will be starting on the 1st of January and will run every Sunday.
In session 0 we will go through character creation as a group, where everybody chooses their race, class and epic path. I will also use this time to explain some of the unique features of Odyssey of the Dragonlords, such as the epic paths and Fame mechanic. The adventures you face in Thylea have their roots in the Greek epics, and there are promises that through enough great deeds, you may be able to join the pantheon of Gods.
I ask that players can commit to all sessions, which will be ran weekly on Sundays, 7PM GMT, with our session zero being on 01/01/23, and are 18+ (I am 24, with other party members being 29-40). The game will be fairly RP heavy, about 70/30 RP/Combat, so I'm looking for players who will enjoy that.
Answers to FAQS - Starting at level 1, runs to level 15, potentially to 20 with additional content. Expected run time 18-24 months. It will be ran on Discord and Roll20. As a DM I prioritise story over exact rulings, but won't break the rules constantly. I have been DMing for almost two years now, and have known 2 of the current players for over a year, and the other two half a year. Your characters would actively be seeking out adventure and willing to accept contracts - the epic path you choose will help with this. I ask that players come into the game with only a loose concept for a character they'd like to play, no set race/class/path. The lore for races in Thylea is unique, and I highly recommend skim reading the players guide to Thylea for character inspiration (link to free pdf below)! Please be a good team player, more in RP than combat, D&D is a co-operative game where intra- party arguments and disagreements can be fun. Constantly squabbling that spills out of game is not.
For anyone who wishes to apply, please answer the questions below and reply either in DMs or the comments.
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? I'm Jim He/Him
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG?
4- What do you find the most interesting about Odyssey of the Dragonlords?
5 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it?
6 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid!
7 - Do you have any questions for me?
Thanks for reading, I appreciate it was a lot! I look forward to your replies
2 - I'm 27 and been playing TTRPGs for about 6 years now and my favourite part has been RP since that first session.
3 - I once made a Tiefling Sorcerer with the Divine Origin. I played them as being pulled between their Infernal and Celestial bloodlines and depending on how much healing or fire magic they used it would impact their personality
4- The Greek Myth influences, those have been my favourite myths since early childhood and I've yet to play in a setting with aspects from them
5 - I had a DM who was a bit too permissive with magical items and homebrew. This led to a situation where one character had 8 different constructs that could take part in battle and where essentially low level fighters. This caused combat to be a dull experience and also impacted roleplay as it removed the need for the players to put themselves at risk
6 - In game I will defer to the DM, if it's a ruling I strongly disagree with I will likely message the DM privately and discuss it further, see if there is a middle ground or even a better explanation for that ruling they didn't give in game
7 - Nothing right now, any questions would be more during character creation
I am in my 30's and have not played D&D for multiple years now. I used to play a regular game with friends in person back where I used to live for about 2 years. I liked the RP elements, puzzles and coming up with creative solutions, but some of the players didn't as much.
I've played an Elf Rogue and a Dwarf Cleric, I much preferred the Cleric mechanically as well as being a relied upon character and friend, although sowing a bit of chaos stealing things inappropriately was fun.
I like history and mythology, Greek and Norse being my favorites, although looking at the players guide I don't really see any familiar gods or characters. The inspiration shows and seems like an excellent setting. It'd also be fun playing with centaurs minotaurs and satyrs.
Honestly my D&D experiences have been good, sure you get some arguments about how something works but most people will just discuss this and then come to a resolution amicably. D&D is about decisions and consequences, dealing with these consequences is part of it, don't see how it's different with ruling. If the DM's says it is this way, then sure.
2 - 24, Irish(GMT) male, been playing for 2-3 years primarily as an online DM/GM.
3 - A bard/warlock asimar named Luci or Zander pretending to be just a normal human, makes shady deals and is always up to no good with his tricks. A human mark of making archer fighter/ hexblade warlock/ bard, who would create weapons to sell or fight with but his best feature was his -2 to intelligence which still wasn't enough to stop him with any intelligence rolls while everyone else fails. And a lot more interesting characters that I don't want to spoil.
4 - What's not to like about a prophesied group of adventures fighting evil and sharing their tails of triumph. But seriously I like the opportunity to develop a character around a new environment and have that character have a meaningful impact on the world.
5 - Not the DMs fault but there were times that some players talk over other players (I have fallen victim as a DM to this).
6 - Usually the DM/GM has finally say I might suggest a different way that I would have done it after the session is finished or during a break if you do breaks.
7 - Is there any restrictions on character creation or will that be discussed in session 0.
If you have any further questions contact me on discord: ROR 101#1058
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns?
Im Jaylen, 20, He/Him , Discord: jub#7780 (EST)
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP.
I've been interested in TTRPGs for about 5 or so years but have been playing DND for just the past 2 years. I've always been a fan of RP stuff though not that i'm great at it but it's very fun
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG?
At the moment it is the last character I created for a long campaign that I was in; a Grave Cleric Shadow Sorcerer multiclass. I liked it so much cause it was playing a healer in a much different way and the backstory led to alot of fun sideplots.
4- What do you find the most interesting about Odyssey of the Dragonlords?
I've always been a fan of all greek/chinese/norse/etc. mythology so I love the overall Hellenic theming of the book. The new subclasses and races look original as well. I've been thinking of playing a martial class soon so the Hoplite and Herculean path definitely look good, but I also more often play magic classes so I was looking at the Sorcerer as well
5 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it?
The only bad experiences were DMs who disbanded or left the group with no warning or explanation to the players the day of or before a session. Haven't had too many in game issues
6 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid!
I like discussing the rules but if the DM wants to rule it their way i'd just ask to clarify if i had thought a rule meant something else from another game. If something were to weirdly actually bother me i would just ask the DM about it outside of the game on another day to not ruin a session with arguing
7 - Do you have any questions for me?
Only questions about house rules and character creation in Session ), otherwise nope. Hope you're still looking lol
2- I've been playing dnd for about 4 years now and always have enjoyed getting to take a break from reality for a little bit.
3- My favorite character would have to have been Gremlin the goblin gunslinger.
4- So far based on what I have read this setting seems interesting, allowing players to actually have an effect on this world.
5- my worst experience would have to be when my dm kicked me out for not choosing a sexuality other than straight. I have no problem with anyone in the LGBTQ community I just don't want them to have a problem with me.
6- for the most part I usually don't have a problem with the dms decision as the dms guide says the final word belongs to the dm.
7- the only question I have character related and can be dicussed at session 0 if your still looking for players.
Oh boy, downloaded the free players guide to Thylea and I was blown away! This looks amazing, and I've been wanting to get back into D&D now that my life is a lot less hectic. Also, just finding a GMT based game for a fellow European is hard enough so I am very excited to see this post!
1. My name is Emma, I go by she/her. My discord username is "Lithe" which is what a lot of my D&D friends call me, but either is fine, really!
2. So I've been interested in D&D for quite some time, but did not start playing it until the pandemic hit (like a lot of others lol) and I have been playing online ever since. I've always loved MMORPGS and just delving into a world where you make a character and experience the adventures it has to offer since my early teenage years, so D&D felt like a no-brainer to me. I always knew I would love it, but I don't think I anticipated just -how- much it would resonate with me. I've since played in 3 campaigns, and 2 one-shots.
3. Honestly, I'm one of those people that just sit on DNDBeyond all day creating new character concepts, but I will always have a soft spot for my first ever D&D character. She was a Moon Elf Divination Wizard in a homebrew campaign named Novantis (Nova for short), with the Sage/Astronomer background. I used that inspiration to make all her spells appear as constellations, as well as have a lot of her character moments revolve around the night sky, stars and the moon. She was soft-spoken, a bit reserved and ended up being the 'voice of reason' in an otherwise very chaotic leaning group lmao, but it was great! I feel like I channeled a lot of who I used to be into her, and seeing her open up and be more comfortable around people as the campaign progressed was amazing to see.
4. The LORE! Holy moly. I was glued to the screen reading through the history behind it, but also all the time and effort that went into creating the races and subclasses is truly remarkable. Also the Epic Paths is something I have heard about but never done personally, and it's a very good hook for a character. Very impressed with all of it, to be honest.
5. Sadly, yes. I have so far have had 2 DM's behave inappropriately with either me or other female players, one of them was not even 18 years old and she ended up leaving because he made her very uncomfortable. I know there is a minority of DM's (or just players in general) behaving like this, so I am not worried searching for games that I will end up with someone like that again but it is something I do keep an eye out for.
6. Communication is key, always. We are all people, and people like different things! There might come a time where maybe not every single person is on board with a decision, but I think what is most important is discussing why and sharing your point of view so that all is said and done we understand -why- they might not agree with it. It's hard to have a group of several people agree on everything most of the time, but as long as people are respectful that tends to work out in the end.
7. Is there something you are looking for specifically with this campaign when it comes to either what sort of player we are, or even just race/subclass? I know sometimes DM's want players to fill a specific role, so if that is the case I would love to know as I am very flexible when it comes to characters! I know you mention to come at this with a "loose" character concepts, but as you are only looking for 1 player I figured it's worth a shot to ask.
Thank you for this opportunity, and either way I hope you have an amazing game! (If you do want to contact me, my discord is Lithe#2223)
2 - I've played some Dnd and Baldur's Gate but I'm still relatively new to TTRPGs-that said I'm willing to experiment and excited to learn!
3 - Elijah, a robot boy who has little gadgets and things to see him through his adventures!
4- Haven't played Odyssey of the Dragonlords, but it does sound cool and I'm a fast learner!
5 - My worst experience was a high school campaign that my ex joined halfway through. Nothing terrible happened, just awkward.
6 - If we disagree on a ruling, I'm very agreeable and won't argue with you. (If it's bad enough to kill my character I might plead, but nothing too serious XD)
2) I’m 20 and have been playing for about 3-4 years with official campaigns and home brews running side by side. I’ve never had a bad experience while playing.
3) my favourite character was a high elf wild magic sorcerer with the rule that anytime I casted a spell and didn’t trigger wild magic it would increase the chance by 1. 4) I love mythology and how it can affect the world both in game and in real life. I also love the work of mass effect so having it created by the writer of 1 and 2 really peaked my interest
5)I’ve never had a bad experience as I believe that what the dm says goes
6) I don’t like confrontation and as said above what the dm says goes
