Hello, my name is Charly and I am here looking for players to join my Adventures from the Potbellied Kobold Online Weekly Games. (Information for the different games will be posted in different replies).
Setting:
The sound of carnival music can be heard from a distance, the streets are illuminated with bright and vibrant colors, and the smell of exotic aromas fills the air, it can only mean one thing, THE POTBELLIED KOBOLD IS BACK IN TOWN!
She is known across the land and beyond as a very eccentric, successful, and charming traveling merchant that goes from settlement to settlement bringing joy, excitement, and a large collection of magical items and trinkets she has collected on her travels and are now for sale (if you have enough coin). Not only that but she also has a yearly tradition of organizing a tournament of sorts for aspiring adventuring groups, and the winners of the tournament will get to accompany The Potbellied Kobold along her travels, no doubt finding all sorts of weird and exciting adventures along the way. Many adventurers have found their fame and fortune traveling alongside her, so winning the tournament is quite the feat for any adventurer that wants to earn some renown, wealth, or even just experience traveling across the land. And best of all, the tournament has just been announced, so it is due to start very soon. Adventure calls, Will you be the lucky few to get a chance at the price?
Adventures from the Potbellied Kobold by Jeff Stevens Games is a collection of 15 adventures for D&D 5E, that can take characters from levels 1 or 2 to level 9. The adventures are light-hearted, whimsical, and overall chill, all set in a normal fantasy setting, leaning more towards RP and exploration than combat, that is not to say that it doesn't have a few challenges in that area, because it does, hoping to achieve a nice balance between the 3 main pillars of D&D. The adventures themselves are meant to be played like an anthology series, are very flexible, and don't really have a connecting narrative thread with one another, so it can easily fit in almost any setting out there, it also allows players to continue with the module and see it to completion, or use it as a launching pad for their characters to go and do something off-book. Ultimately it will be up to the players to pick where the adventure will take them next.
DM Presentation:
My name is Charly, I'm 27 years old and I have played 5e for about 6 years, %90 of that time as a DM. I have run games from one-shots, module adventures, several homebrew campaigns from my own creation, and everything in between. My first D&D game ever was as a DM and since then it became my favorite thing, I really enjoy the feeling of giving a group of people an enjoyable TTRPG experience, and I like to be creative with the tools that are provided to create something personal and being able to share it with others, and overall just making sure that everyone is having fun while playing at my table.
Style:
Roleplay level: HIGH.
I enjoy Roleplaying a lot, and I have the most enjoyment when I am able to engage others in it, by giving them an outlet to let loose and interact with as many NPCs or things as they desire. That being said, it does put me on the heavy side of descriptions, mostly because I like the idea of painting a picture to the players that can hopefully be used to create an immersive experience.
Combat level: MEDIUM.
I like to create challenging encounters and combat situations for my players, (I don’t look for TPKs because that is easy to do), I also like to put combat encounters fairly scattered around the adventure and in situations where it makes sense or it is expected (not going to bombard you with daily random encounters during your travels). And I also like to add a little detail on the maps if needed to make the terrain and combat scenarios more interesting and more interactive.
Heavy number crunching and min-maxing are not a necessity to make it through my encounters (you can do it if that is what makes combat fun for you. The only thing that I ask for in return is that you just take into consideration the other players that are participating with you).
Puzzles level: LOW.
I have to say not my strongest aspect as a DM, but I will do my best to implement some if the group is really into puzzles.
What I offer:
3-hour sessions (with a 15-minute break in the middle): I think this is a decent chunk of time to have where we can mess around, explore, do some combat, and have a sense of progression in the game.
Consistent Games: Inconsistency tends to be one of the main reasons why campaigns are not finished and or why groups fall apart. So I do my best to be present and ready for every session to make sure that I have a consistent game.
Future plans (optional and only if players are ok with it): Another thing that I can offer is that, if players want to keep on playing with the same characters, we can turn the adventure into a longer campaign, and it can be from an official adventure, an adventure from a homebrew setting, an off-book adventure in my own personal setting, etc. Again, only if players want to keep playing.
Customization: Whether it is maps made by me, sets of homebrew creatures out of my own design, rule changes to make some mechanics more interesting, homebrew systems and magic items, Changing aspects of the world and story to fit the parties' motivations, and possibly backstories. I like to put a decent amount of effort when it comes to my games, in order to create a unique experience.
A friendly environment: I try to keep some rules when it comes to behavior (more on that later), to make sure that I have a space where everyone can relax and disconnect for a few hours, and to mostly avoid problem players that only want to bring the mood of Roleplay down or have fun at the expenses of the other players.
Contact me and learn more about me.
If you want to learn more about me and what I offer I suggest you visit the Roll 20 Links for the specific game you want to join to learn more. You can also check my GM profile over on startplaying.games, where you can also check the reviews I have received over time, link to that is right here: https://startplaying.games/gm/thatcharlyguy25 And finally, the easiest and most recommended way of contacting me directly if you are interested in joining any of my games is to add me on Discord here: (ThatCharlyDM#2097) is the most efficient one, since it allows me to see applications and notifications much faster than in other platforms.
Anyway, that will be all for now, thank you for taking the time to read this thread, and hopefully, I'll get to play with you in the future. Have a nice day.
