Game: D&D 5e. Group type: Online. Experience: New players and veterans welcome alike. Schedule: Played every other Thursday, sessions starting at 17:30 UTC, lasting about 3-4 hours. Roles sought: 3 players. Game style: A good balance of most aspects of the game, but probably lighter on combat, though I'm happy adjust as players would like.
I am a GM with about 5 years of total DnD experience, which includes both my time as a player and GM. I am looking for 3 players to join me and two players from my previous campaign on a new adventure. The exact setting, plot, and tone of the campaign is not settled yet, but once all the players are assembled I have multiple campaign concepts we can decide between. In any case, the game would be set in my homebrew world, and i have plenty of ideas and material to work with, so it wouldn't take more than a couple of weeks to get started.
We would be using Discord for voice, and Foundry as our choice of VTT (it is free to use for the players and accessible via browser and invitation link).
For character creation, players would be starting at 3rd level with an extra Feat of their choice. All official 5e material published by WotC is available, and I am also open to allowing homebrew content, though it would have to go by me first, and I maintain the right to decline for any reason (but generally, the more well-known/less intrusive the homebrew, the more likely I am to allow it, i.e. Blood Hunter is very popular so i am familiar enough with it to make the judgement to allow it, or if you bring homebrew that lets you play a WIS-based Paladin instead of CHA for some roleplay reason, I'd probably be open to it, since it's a relatively small change).
Requirements to join:
Must be over 18. Not that we plan to have 18+ content in the game, it's just that we all are adults and feel more comfortable playing with fellow adults.
Decent enough English to keep up with the game, as that's the language we'll be using.
A working microphone and a Discord account, as we'll be communicating via voice there. No video, no webcam needed.
For your application: Could you tell me your time zone?
How much Experience do you have with TTRPGs/DnD/5e?
Could you tell me about what style of play/aspects of the game you like/dislike, what kind of campaign you're looking for?
Please pitch me a character concept (could be the one you'd like to play, one you've already played, etc...).
How much Experience do you have with TTRPGs/DnD/5e?
- I have been Playing/Dm'ing for 5-6 Years now, I used to DM Full Time (Paid, 1-2 Sessions a Day) but I recently put that to the side to begin working on my debut novel.
Could you tell me about what style of play/aspects of the game you like/dislike, what kind of campaign you're looking for?
- I love the freedom that comes with DnD and the interactions that can be had through both NPC's & PC's, aswell as the collaborative storytelling. I am looking for a Campaign with a good mix of RP & Combat (60 RP/40 Combat) but that's not too important to me. I just want to be apart of a great story and create a narrative.
Please pitch me a character concept (could be the one you'd like to play, one you've already played, etc...).
I don't have too strong of a Character concept at the moment, I normally like to base it around Homebrew and current world/narrative.
I enjoy combat, collecting and using magical items, and typically let other people solve puzzles and riddles. Not a huge fan of Investigative/Diplomacy , but I can wing it from time to time.
I have several character concepts that I enjoy playing in the past, but never got to finish them due to group dissolutions. None of them are 'edgy' or 'murderhobo' types.
- Former slave turned Gloom Stalker, graduating into Twilight Cleric Yaun-Ti who found himself in the northern non-Slavery parts of Faerun (or your world's equivalent). Raised in an orphanage for a few years before joining a traveling group of Ranger's on their way out of the city. Dislikes the city, hates slavers and tyrants, and tries to live above the perceptions of his heritage. But is still mostly a cold-logic snakeman.
- Automaton (Warforged,) [Twilight Cleric/Sorcerer "Command Bot"] from an almost lifeless universe of planets containing semi-sentient continent spanning factories engaged in endless wars (total stalemate) with each other using the scraps of the multiverse to fuel their assemblies. This particular Automaton is the first to be 'sent' out to find a tactic, weapon, or 'something' to finally change the tide of battle by its creator-factory. (billion strong armies that never run out of material, meets phyrexian/borg esque body horror filled factories, meets 40k levels of 'theres no hope, just death,' meets a few other IPs scrunched into what is essentially a pocket universe of apocalypse ravaged worlds.)
- A paladin of vengeance dual-whip wielding arakocra. It's just a weird idea, never actually played it.
- A Kensai Monk, Yaun-Ti. His monetary/(or yaun-ti equivalent) was destroyed in a magical event triggered by a cultist group doing cultist things. He decided to leave the country and find real-life combat training, powerful items, and eventually find or start a new school to settle back into the rigid disciplined structure of his liking, training a new generation of pugilists. But preferably away from areas commonly frequented by cultists or other anarchistic groups.
- Half-Elf druid/warlock, or warlock/druid. defender of the moon and the stars, keeper of the lands of the evening and the dawn. never played, no backstory yet - but he's got a cool character model, I think.
Experience : very familiar with 5e, don’t have much experience outside of 5e but will be more that comfortable if this is the system used.
Playstyle : I prefer a story driven game focused on world building and characters backstories being a part of that world and having consequences, but it’s also pretty good to have a semi regular combat to use all your skills.
Character concept : I have two, ones more suited to a more serious campaign whilst the other is a bit more loose.
the first is a Dragonborn monk who has strongly inherited the hoarding tendencies of his draconic ancestors, this led him to steal from powerful people who took revenge and left him for dead, he was found by a monastery who took him in and taught him their ways, of which a major tenant is that they hold no material possessions, and would be about him going back into the world and dealing with temptation, either staying true to his teachings and levelling as a monk, or falling back to bad habits and levelling in rogue
the less serious one is a paladin, oath of devotion, but he’s not working in service of a god but is instead devoted to his childhood crush, and is devoted to doing whatever he thinks will impress her and make her fall in love with him. Very much a Himbo character
I have others that could fit depending on type of campaign and classes other members wanted to play
I am relatively new but have been playing frequently for about 2 months
I'm into role playing and combat and I usually like my character to have a certain struggle or conflict. I can do any settings but prefer a more serious one.
A character I used to play is a noble sorcerer who supported the slaves to overthrow his family and now is a fugitive running from his brother who is immensely more powerful than him thanks to purer bloodline.
I'm looking to play as an undercover assassin travelling as a bard, gathering souls of powerful individuals for an evil spirit. But depending on campaign I can come up with others as well.
I have just over a years experiance playing D&D but am ready and willing to learn more as the adventure progresses
I do like the roleplay aspect of the game and I like creating backstorys that enhance the characters realism. I quite like a fight every now and again and also like the times that my character has to think their way through puzzles interdispersed throughout the adventure to achive a goal or objective, I can go for any setting and or tone of game as long as we all have fun.
A previous character that I mostly have played is Zarik Cairnhunter a totem barbarian and he has taken me through many an adventure, he is in his level 5 configuration.
I would like to play as an Articifer Artillerist named Argent Silvershire, I would change and tailor his backstory to fit in with the world that you create and would be happy to re-roll his stats if need be and would add the extra feat if he is accepted.
Mountain Time zone, but play time is not an issue.
‘I’ve be a dungeon robbing rogue since 78….😳🫡👍
I like a balance of role play, adventure and combat.
Rogue Investigator, maybe writes for large newspaper or world magazine. Crime/adventure beat. A race that has illusion capabilities. Questionable ethics and moral standards. Campaign and world/region dependent.

How much Experience do you have with TTRPGs/DnD/5e?
Started playing a couple months back, both Dm'ed and played a couple of sessions, consumed a lot of DnD content (Arlentric, No Dice, XP To Level 3, CR, CritCrab, Den of the Drake), also reading up constantly about actual mechanics and rules in game, so I do know the basics of both gameplay and player etiquette.
Could you tell me about what style of play/aspects of the game you like/dislike, what kind of campaign you're looking for?
I enjoy coming up with character concepts and backstories that support them, and in game I value teamwork, in character bonding moments, as well as cool combat moments, in my opinion games should have a nice balance of all of those.
Please pitch me a character concept (could be the one you'd like to play, one you've already played, etc...).
I currently have 8 characters created and ready to be played, all with vague backstory ideas connecting both to their background and chosen class/subclass. Examples:
Rune Knight Goblin - grew up in a rough environment as a pirate, only had one friend, a fellow goliath crew member that taught them Giants Rune magic that they use. Rough and abrasive, but not actually evil.
Warforged Artillerist - created as a war weapon and recovered by a group of orcs and goblins, when created had a lot of knoledge put into him so he's very intelligent, but due to little contact with civilisation he is unable to get social cues or sarcasm and takes everything that's said very literally ( even if he can tell it makes no logical sense)
Aasimar Tempest Cleric - Talos is her distant ancestor, she detests the violence and destruction he loves, wants to use her powers to heal and help people intead. Unfortunately, she inherited his very short and destructive temperament that causes her to lash out. Talos knows she doesn't truly follow him, but allows her to use her powers as he enjoys seeing her internal struggle.
Changeling Bladesinging Wizard - a Robin Hood-esque con-man with a kind heart, secretly wishes he was born an elf and always appears as one, and despite his playful personality is suprisingly dedicated to studying magic.
And many more, but those are my favourites.
