About me as the Game Master!
Hello, I often go by PUN, I am 27, I live in Texas with my two cats. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about half my life. I have been a Dungeon Master for over 8 years. I have been a professional Dungeon Master for 4 years now. I started out in 4e and quickly moved to 5e where I picked up DMing for my small group of friends. It has been one of my biggest passions and greatest joys being able to make an amazing story with those sitting across the table or, in more recent times, screen.
My GMing style is a bit more laid back than most I have experienced in my day. I hate the feeling of the DM being against or "beating" the players. My goal is to build a story with and around the player in my game. If you are not having fun then I am not having fun.
I love a good roleplay heavy session. I have a couple of voices that I can do but don't make fun of me for slipping in and out of them! I am a super laid back and a "will of the players" type GM. The "rule of cool" is something I live by, I may allow something to happen just because I deem it cool. I sometimes twist or bend the rules to make a game more fun for both the players and myself. I mostly run a homebrew game but love running more sandbox modules such as Out of the Abyss.
Having been a full time professional Dungeon Master for four+ years now, I pride myself on being able to tell a story that draws in everyone at the table. My goal is to connect you to the scene even if your character may not actively be in it. With this being my full time job I am able to fully devote myself to ensuring your enjoyment at my table.
New Session Information
Basic Information for the game is: Game Time: Saturdays starting at 12pm CST and running until 5pm CST Game System: We will be running the 2024 update. Homebrew is allowed just has to be approved first. Game Style: As mentioned above I have a special place in my heart for story centric campaigns. Number of Players: We need three to get started.
I like to develop my games with the players that make them up. So while a general narrative has not been decided those that join in early will be able to help craft the story that they would like to take part in. I have two fully homebrew worlds that we can play in and I am not against playing in an established setting. I want to tell a story with the players sitting around the table with me and those players should have a say in the content of that story.
Already Started Session Information
Basic Information for the game is: Game Time: Wednesdays starting at 5pm CST and running until 10pm CST Game System: We will be running the 2014 rules. Homebrew is allowed just has to be approved first. Game Style: As mentioned above I have a special place in my heart for story centric campaigns. Number of Players: We need one player, they are level 6.
The Wednesday Game is an Eldritch Horror meets Gothic Horror story. In a City spilling over with with strife between the people, the Universe has seen fit to open the door to even more possibilities. Entities from beyond our own world have made their way into the pages of our story. Siblings in a manor, at least they bicker and squabble as such. They have laid claim to the city, dividing it up like a prize hog. Our party finds themselves in the middle of this squabble and maybe a bit over their heads. Can you help them reopen the door and push the siblings out?
Basic Information for the game is: Game Time: Fridays starting at 7pm CST and running until 11pm CST Game System: We will be running the 2014 rules. Homebrew is allowed just has to be approved first. Game Style: As mentioned above I have a special place in my heart for story centric campaigns. Number of Players: We need one, player they are level 3.
The Friday game is a story about a group of Rag-Tag Adventures setting aside differences to save themselves and get home. After an explosion on the SS Auberon the party was flung to the outer reaches of space. In this Spelljammer campaign we are focusing at the moment on rebuilding the crashed safety pod then attempting to make it back home. Not knowing how far away they are from home or even if they have enough supplies to make it this will be a nail biting adventure across the stars.
What to expect.
Payment for games is as follows: I am running a deal right now that the first 3 months of play only cost $100 per month. After the 3 months period when you for sure know this is a good fit for you the price will be returned to its normal amount of $125 a month. We only play 4 times a month allowing me to take a break on any month that has a 5th day of the week that we play on.
I know $100 a month can sound steep to play D&D but that is $25 a session for the four sessions we play together. I put a lot of time and energy into making these games enjoyable for you and tailored to each group. This is my full time job so I can focus on my games and only my games. I also have reviews of the players I currently have in my games to help attest to the fact that this game will indeed be worth the price tag.
I have one group that has been playing over 4 years now, they just finished their first campaign and are starting a new one together. My Sunday game just reached their four year mark as well and have completed their story. The one thing all games want is to make it to a satisfying end, with my games we are able to do that with consistency. People that pay into the games are more likely to put quality time into them and make sure they are there. So we miss far fewer sessions and are able to make it into the long term.
All races and classes in official Wizards of the Coast published book are free game to use. I am even open to allowing UA/Homebrew as long as it has been submitted and approved by me before session 1 begins. We will be using roll20 for maps and combats, discord for voice chat, and D&Dbeyond for character sheet upkeep and rolling. There is an extension (beyond20) that allows you to roll on D&DBeyond and it port it over to roll20 and I have found it to be super effective. So that will be used as well.
We will work together to build backstories that tie into the world. This allows for more immersion into the story. We will discuss what type of game we are all wanting to play, where and how we wish to start, and if any of our characters have connected backstories. With this completed we can go into the first session with a running jump.
The first actual session and getting you set up into the game is free.
Parting words
I understand that paying money to play this game can sometimes be off putting. But when you consider the man hours I put into creating an immersive campaign story for you to play, D&Dbeyond content, as well as other purchases I make to run a great campaign, it is almost nothing to pay for the numerous hours of enjoyment that you will receive in return. It not only assures my level of commitment but the other players as well. If you are concerned at all about my quality as a Dungeon Master I have 26 players currently paying for my games, and dozens more, that I have played with in the past, who would vouch for my ability.
I do require my players to be 18+, this allows for more mature topics to be discussed, but other than that all are welcome to apply. I can work with any skill level from the just watched CritRole (or other D&D media) and want to play to the old timers playing since before I was born. Something I have to add is, be open to constructive criticism, old players and new alike, we are playing a collaborative storytelling game together. If someone has an issue with something that happened we should be able to settle it as adults. If that is not something you think you can do I ask that you please find another game. If you can, then I will welcome you with open arms to our (virtual) table.
