Question about content: are any D&D Beyond 3rd Party books allowed? Moreover, let's say I have an official subclass I'd like to play, but it's only exclusive to 2024 rules. If possible, could I potentially use a homebrew subclass which adapts the material 1-to-1, just for 2014 rules?
Hi so I've read this a few times and I question if I will be accepted. See, I'm a straight male. You have in your description 18+LGBTQ+ friendly community, and I don't know what that means for me. I don't even understand how that is relevant to playing DND or any RPG. Maybe it's my age. I get 18+ because some people use more colorful language than I do, but the rest I don't get it. I only care if someone is a good person or not. If you're a criminal, you and I have an issue. Your personal life is just that, your personal life. So I will wait to here back from you before a join the nexus. Also is it free to join? Louis
Generally speaking, LGBTQ+ friendly just means any in that community are safe & anyone who is an ass to them will likely get kicked or banned. Doesn't mean straight people will get kicked lol.
Just be okay with any in that community & you're good.
As for how it applies to D&D, many make their characters of different sexual orientation (Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, etc) & of transgender orientation (transmasc, transfem, nonbinary, etc.) Simply put, homophobia, transphobia, & bigotry aren't allowed. A straight dude like yourself can join, just don't be a dick to others
Far as character creation goes we only allow the allowed official content. We have began looking at allowing some 3rd party content*, or at least parts of, but it will likely only be to the extent of items, sub-classes, spells and races, we are not considering additions of full classes as it would mean some logistical issues we'd rather avoid (i won't bore you with details)
So to answer your case? No that would not likely be allowed for official character creation, Some DM's could however be lenient enough to allow it as homebrew in their session.
* Currently considering humblewoods and aferwards the other two critical role books.
ok thx. I am 62 and I try to respect and treat everyone how I want to be treated. It just threw me off with that statement. I think I will look at the link.

Thank you for addressing!
Shame about the third party, I really wanted to run an Arachnoid Stalker Plasmoid Rogue (Arachnoid Stalker being a Spider-Man-esc subclass from Valda's Spire of Secrets along with a Frat-boy Paladin Subclass & a "Wizard" Subclass for Barb among others)
Good thing my 8 other characters are all made with official stuff
First time i am hearing of an Arachnoid Stalker Rogue...
I'll say it like this. Character creation for Nexus happens on a global level, so every DM needs to be okay with the baseline characters we allow. If we allowed stuff from books like Steinheardt's it would -completely- break any semblance of balance we have left.
That said, there are DMs who want to run that content and will make what is called a "proxy" campaign, where you gain rewards on your official approved character, while playing this "proxy" character that fits within that DM's campaign.
Ofc that is not to mean to promise you you'd get into a situation like that with a DM or that any DM would allow you to create your Arachnoguy... just trying to more precisely explain how things run with us.
In our 4th month of public operations, we are already past the 300 member threshold and our player numbers keep growing to a point where we need more DM's to satisfy the demand! Come throw your hat in with us and you'll have a chance at catching the server wide body-swap event that is upcoming soon!
We have also opened a DnD themed Minecraft server for those of you who are block obsessed too.
Saw you post on my thread Appreciate the offer, Im definitely interested and yea I'll have to tweak my character('s). I'll join the discord and we can go from there.
After long discussion, The Nexus now allows Humblewoods content for character creation as well!
We have allowed most of Humblewoods and Humblewood related content within The Nexus, with a few exceptions that would threaten balance. This comes as part of our test run on adding partnered content and if all goes well, we will be looking into other books in the future. Critical roll content is up for consideration next.
