Adventure Blurb:
The wind howls. The darkness lingers. A year has passed since the sun last rose over Icewind Dale. The people of Ten-Towns are survivors, but as warmth fades paranoia festers, alliances crack, and hope becomes as fragile as ice underfoot.
The townsfolk survive by firelight, scavenging what little the frozen tundra offers while whispering prayers to a goddess who does not answer. The ice shifts. Something calls from the depths of the frost, waiting for those foolish—or desperate—enough to listen.
And now the curse is spreading. Overnight, oceans freeze. Deserts threaten to turn to tundra. The world can no longer ignore the growing storm. If left unchecked, Auril’s grasp may plunge all of Faerûn into a new ice age. With all contact to Ten-Towns seemingly severed, only those brave enough to enter may uncover the truth.
Will you unravel the mysteries of the Rime before the cold claims you? Or will you simply become another frozen, forgotten corpse buried beneath endless snow?
What This Campaign Offers:
🧊 A Dark, Roleplay-Heavy Adventure – Your choices will shape the story and the fate of Faerun.
✍️A World That Remembers – NPCs react to your actions, alliances shift, and grudges last.
⚔️A Harsh, Unforgiving Setting – Survival mechanics, dangerous wildlife, and moral dilemmas await.
Game System: D&D 5e (2024 Ruleset)
Campaign Levels: Starting at Level 5, expected to run through Level 15 Platform:Foundry VTT + Discord (Voice Chat, No Video Required) Requirements: A stable computer that can run Foundry VTT Open Spots: [6/6]
This will be a sandbox game, with your actions and where you choose to go first drastically changing the course of events and the outcome you’ll receive. Decide who to help, save, and let fall, what rumors to chase, where to turn next, and how you handle the challenges thrown your way.
Icewind Dale is a horror campaign in a very different way than Curse of Strahd, one much closer to a lovecraftian style of horror as you face the unknown, and the forces of nature itself that neither sword or spell can defeat head on.
I have expanded the story with my own reworks, community content, and Forgotten Realms lore to enhance the experience even for those who may have braved Icewind Dale once or twice before.
Your journey will explore:
🔥 The Thin Line Between Hope & Despair – Will you bring warmth to a dying land, or let it freeze?
🌀 A Desolate Madness – The ice is not silent. It watches, it waits… and it remembers.
🔮 The Fear of the Forgotten – Some things are buried for a reason…
❄️ The Season Is Not Just a Setting, It’s Your Enemy – And it wants you dead. Not all opposition can be fought by traditional means.
🌍 Exploration: High ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | ⚔️ Combat: Fairly Low⭐⭐ | 🎭 Social RP & Drama: Very High ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🧩 Puzzles: Low⭐ | 😂 Humor: Fairly Low⭐⭐
Adventure Blurb:
Waterdeep: Crown of the North. Outside the city, the world has been thrown into chaos. Demon lords have risen, cults have struck throughout the Sword Coast, and now the City of Splendors is facing its own crisis that threatens to rip it apart at the seams.
Over the past month, the Black Network Mercenaries and Xanathar Thieves Guild have begun clashing in broad daylight, while the return of a famous thief from a hundred years ago is whispered of from lips highborn and low. Murders of elves and half-elves in the lower districts of the city are occurring weekly. And on top of it all, Dagult Neverember, disgraced prior Open Lord of Waterdeep, is rumored to have stashed half a million embezzled gold somewhere in the city!
Dropped in the middle YOU come in. What starts as a simple task to find the missing friend of famed author Volothamp Geddarm will quickly spiral into a web of conspiracy and competing interests, where nothing is quite as it first appears. In a city like this, clever words and good friends can serve you better than an open blade, but a sharp knife and good aim wouldn't be amiss...as long as you keep the blood off the streets.
When everything is over, how will Waterdeep remember you?
What This Campaign Offers:
💰 A Rich, Intrigue-Driven Sandbox – Navigate faction politics, solve mysteries, and carve out your own legacy.
🎭 A World That Reacts to You – NPCs remember your choices, grudges last, and power is never static.
🖼️ Immersive Visuals & Soundscapes – Stunning maps, dynamic handouts, and curated music bring Waterdeep to life.
⚖️ A City Where Law & Chaos Collide – Navigate the Watch, the Guilds, the Nobility, and the criminal underworld.
🔥 A Roleplay-Focused Experience – Social maneuvering, clever planning, and quick thinking will take you further than brute force…though the latter is still an option, if you’re smart about it.
Game System: D&D 5e (2024 Ruleset)
Campaign Levels: Currently at Level 9, expected to run through Level 12 Platform:Foundry VTT + Discord (Voice Chat, No Video Required) Requirements: A stable computer that can run Foundry VTT Open Spots: [2/5]
About the Campaign
🏰An Urban Sandbox| 🕵️ Social RP & Faction Intrigue | 🎭 Dynamic NPC Interactions
This is an open-ended, character-driven urban sandbox. Waterdeep is full of warring factions, hidden agendas, and powerful figures who all have something to gain (or lose). Your choices—who you work with, who you betray, and how you navigate the city’s many dangers—will shape the course of events.
This version of Dragon Heist is an amalgamation of my own work mixed with bits and pieces I've incorporated from the larger module community and Faerun lore to further put the faction intrigue at the core of the game.
There will be situations and enemies that you will not be able to fight head-on, especially in a city setting where the law frowns upon open killing. Creative problem solving, making alliances, and some skullduggery can go a long way to help supplement pure force.
The effort you take to learn about the people, places, and events will directly feed into what happens, and the story is one that runs best when the party is active in pushing its direction. If you like digging into NPCs and interacting heavily with character work, this is a fantastic campaign for it!
There are a lot of moving parts, so note takers will find their skill sets coming in very handy. In fact, I'll have personal channels for note taking between games that is set up like a journal for your character, and will hand out a point of inspiration at the start of each game for anyone who uses it the prior session.
Your journey will explore:
🔥 The Question of Power – In a city where the dynamics constantly shift, what does it mean to have the power to change society, in the hands of those who would shape it to their own ends?
🕵️ Appearances Can Be Deceiving – Not all is as it appears to be. How does what we assume shape our actions and perceptions? What do we do when what we’re facing changes?
🏔️What We Are Assumed To Be – How does how others perceive us shape who we believe we are? When do we let others stop holding that power over us? What do we choose to become, or embrace, in light of it?
