Hey everyone, I do have 1 spot open in an upcoming homebrew campaign. It will obviously be on Mondays starting around 6pm/630pm till 9pm cst, 7pm to 10pm est.
Im doing this on my phone so I apologize for limited information about the campaign at this moment for posting.
The campaign will be a darker tone story (nothing crazy or bad, just potential npc deaths lol) I will be using 5e 2014 tools/rulings. Large world to explore with many different opportunities for characters to grow. The world/story will also be affected by choices/actions the characters choose, things can change for better or worse. Characters can have backstories, but they won't control the plot/story, backstories will be used as a way to have players connected to an assistant npc or two which might offer advice/guidance. Backstories will primarily be for the players to grow as a group getting to know and rp with each other and discovering what each character has or hasn't been through. (I also might pick little items out of backstories to use as potential side questing during the campaign)
This campaign will have factions/guilds that each player will be allowed to start off in. Each faction/guild of course has its own perks/bonuses. Players will have a Favor system/reputation system within their factions/guilds. Favor points can be earned in multiple ways, after gaining the required amount of favor points players can take a trial to increase their current rank, in doing so will unlock new perk/bonuses. On that same note players can also lose Favor points if they fail a quest, break faction rules, helping a rival faction, ect.
This campaign will be an open world setting so of course you can choose to go any way you want, just know the dangers in the wild will not always be within your level of experience. So do research and gaining knowledge from other travelers is highly recommended.
The campaign will have bounty boards/jobs players can take to earn extra coin. Bounties/jobs are coded green (easy), yellow (medium/hard), red(dangerous).
We will also have a training system which will allow players to train/learn from set npcs, and be able to unlock other bonuses such as a +1 to a skill, maybe a bonus feat.
I have other unique feats/systems that players will experience.
Story will be heavy on both rp and combat which all depends on how players handle situations.
Just leave your name, and discord information, and maybe a little about what you look for in a dnd game. I also want to know what character you have that you believe will fit this story.
Answer these questions as your character.
1. What do you hope to gain at the end of your journey?
2. Do you expect to live through this journey?
3. What would you do if a member of your group betrayed you?
4. What do you want to be remembered for?
5. What do you bring that others might not?
If you made it this far and fill out the information i asked for above i will read through replies over the next couple of days and reach out people that have replied with info.
If you dont have a character in mind just say so, not the end of the world lol we can always figure it out if youre picked.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and have an awesome day.
Name: Edward (Ed) Discord: Floraclaw I always love to play and write for TTRPGS. I love being able to tell stories and have fun with others and even years down the road still have great memories of the campaign we were in. I have a couple character's in mind but one stands out as my Shadow Sorcerer. Answers in Character 1: To understand this power and learn to control it even if it is magic tied to darkness. 2: No one ever plans to die, If I can get stronger and learn. Maybe gain some allies along the way, we can fight to the end of this journey. 3: Try to learn the reason of the betrayal, maybe there was a larger situation at play here. 4: To reclaim fame or even surpass his families standing, If I can't get rid of this dark power I will use it for good. 5: Connections. I may no longer be someone of nobility but we know some people that likes to keep things under wraps.
1. What do you hope to gain at the end of your journey? Experience and fond memories.
2. Do you expect to live through this journey? It's difficult to say. The campaign looks cutthroat with an emphasis on consequences. It would depend on my choices.
3. What would you do if a member of your group betrayed you? That depends on what kind of character I play. A lawful good paladin might forgive and turn the other cheek. An assassin, on the other hand...
4. What do you want to be remembered for? I want to be remembered as a hero (or antihero). Someone whose actions have a lasting effect on the lives of generations hence.
5. What do you bring that others might not? Consistency, maturity, and respect.
Jeff, ncfishboy, looking for a long term group to have fun with on a consistent basis. I have a human draconic sorcerer that I have been wanting to play. I typically play a more martial class but this is a build that I have been wanting to try. If it doesn't work out I have other classes to choose from as well.
Answer these questions as your character.
1. I hope to prove to Puff (his "familiar") that he will not grow to old for him and to show him that he can become a great magic user
2. Of course I do, I set off to trade curious goods and test my magic, I don't think there isn't anything I can't do.
3. I see the best in people and don't think that anyone I travel with would betray me on purpose so I would have to see what happened because there is no way they would turn on me.
4. For staying true to my friends especially Puff
5. Seeing the best in people and every situation, along with my keen eye for a good deal and the curious nature that most people outgrow but I never will.
Please let me know if you have any particular questions.
