The great cataclysm is a distant memory, but its scars remain etched upon the land and the soul of its people. This is Renostra, a world born from the violent fusion of three ancient realms. Here, the Holy Imperium hunts rogue mages, driven by the justified fear of a magical apocalypse that killed billions. In the north, the vigilant Kingdom of Rhuinthall, founded by refugees from a city consumed by undeath, champions knowledge as a shield against the darkness. Between them, city-states vie for power, ancient elves watch from their timeless forests, and the Ouroboros Conclave struggles to impose an ethical framework on the world's most dangerous force.
This is a world where history is not just lore; it is a living, breathing wound. Your character will not be a passive observer but an active participant in a story where the ideological fault lines of magic, faith, and governance threaten to tear the world apart once more.
This Game is for You If:
You love creating a character with a detailed backstory, clear motivations, and future goals.
You enjoy deep roleplaying and moments of quiet, meaningful character interaction as much as, if not more than, combat.
You want to be part of a long-term story, starting at level 1 and growing with a consistent group.
You prefer a serious, grounded tone where actions have lasting and realistic consequences.
You want to create a character who is part of the world, someone who is generally good-leaning or lawful-leaning and seeks to build something, not just burn it all down.
Setting Highlights:
A Rich, Detailed World: Explore the continent of Thuleah, meticulously crafted with its own history, cultures, politics, and mysteries.
The Weight of a Magical Apocalypse: The world's relationship with magic is defined by the Convergence, a cataclysm triggered by arcane hubris that fused three worlds into one. As a result, Arcane Magic is heavily regulated and even outlawed in many nations.
Nuanced Factions: Navigate a complex political landscape. There are no simple "good guys" or "bad guys"—just powerful factions like the dogmatic Holy Imperium, the vigilant Kingdom of Rhuinthall, the fiercely independent Free City Baronies, and the magically adept Ouroboros Conclave.
Withdrawn Gods: In this setting, the gods are distant and do not intervene directly. Clerics and Paladins are powered by their unwavering faith, not a direct conversation with a deity.
The Logistics:
Game: D&D 5e (2014/2024 Rules)
Group Type: Online. Discord for voice/video, D&D Beyond for characters, and Talespire for VTT are required.
Schedule: Weekly, Tuesday or Thursday. Likely starting at 8:00 PM AST (7:00 PM EST / GMT -4).
Players Sought: 3-4 dedicated players for a long-term campaign.
Your DM: I am a veteran DM with a passion for collaborative, narrative-driven storytelling. Players of all experience levels are welcome.
How to Apply:
I vet all players to ensure we build a cohesive and dedicated group that is on the same page from the start.
If this world and style of play sound like what you've been searching for, please contact me on Discord at utukku232. Please include a little about yourself and answer this question: What is the most memorable character you have ever played, and what made them special to you?
I also have a Google Form available if you want to submit a character. It is a longer process than most as this a bigger world than most settings and there is a high expectation of role-playing and story telling. https://forms.gle/sr4gkwrTwgBrAbcM9 I also have a link for the current world lore book. https://tinyurl.com/Utukku232
Before I discord DM you I'm wondering Talespire is something we have to buy or does it work like other paid VTTs where the DM sends a link and player connect off that? If it's the latter option where you'd just send a link to players, I'm interested as long as we can do Thursdays because I work on Tuesdays and don't have the option of changing my schedule.

Talespire has few options. One - you can buy it and use it as a GM, building your own maps and such. (about $30 CAD) Two - you can buy a "seat", this lets you sit at a table but you cannot build maps. (about $15 CAD) Three - as the DM I buy a group of "seats" for players to join me at my table. It is free for you (or other players) but you cannot take it else where. The cost is on me, which is fine, but is also why vet players and characters more than most DMs.

I'd extra vet too. But cool to know. I'm gonna add you as a friend over on Discord. :)
