That's right, I'm starting a game in which we're all going to take turns DMing! So if you're the Forever DM and you just want a way to play for a bit AND have a chance to see and experience the DMing style of others, then this may be the game for you! Game: D&D (2024 core rules)
Group type: Online (Discord)
Experience: a few years or a veteran player is probably best
Location/Timezone: Eastern time zone
Schedule: Thursday nights, 7:00-10:00 or 11:00, beginning 2 October
Roles sought: We have room for one or two more players/DMs...in this campaign you'll be doing both!
Game style: We're all going to begin in a shared starting town/hub which is perched in an interplanar space where all the worlds of the multiverse meet. What this means is that when you take your turn DMing you will be able to take your adventure into whatever corner of the multiverse you want (within the bounds of any ground rules we decided as a group in Session Zero of course). There is no Uber DM or Boss DM overseeing the whole, so it will be a series of loosely connected adventures with the same cast of characters; this means that there are some firm rules that we all need to agree to from the get-go, and those are all explained in the starting/orientation material. The group we have at present is very interested in creating compelling and meaningful stories with characters who are engaging and interesting. No joke or gimmick characters, please! We are an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming table...but if you're the kind of player who routinely says, "That's just what my character would do!" then you'd probably best find another group...
Hey! This sounds like a lot of fun! I've been DMing the past year and playing since 2019 before that. Two settings I've got right now are a DC campaign set in the future where Apokolips has conquered many of the known planets (Mutants and Masterminds) and a horror western setting (DnD 5e).
