Make your mark in a large, but player-capped live-play/PBP hybrid setting with potential for cross-group, large group, PVP, and live event play! $20/Session (or week is PBP)
A living fantasy setting with a reasonable player cap that enables us to tell stories from all over the tonal and stylistic spectrum, carefully designed to facilitate many medieval fantasy character concepts. Dark desert dungeon crawls, epic hex crawls, political thrillers, stories about a bridge...
Chronicles of Atlasi is designed to be a shared, collective RPG medieval fantasy (a dash of jrpg flavor) setting. I accept everyone who isn't mean to other players (you can be mean to me). LGBTQ+, race, gender, age, experience with TTRPGS. Everyone. The idea is that if we want our setting to feel genuinely lived-in and provide a sense of verisimilitude, it's imperative. I'm just now kicking this thing off officially (I have a couple groups already), so even if you don't find any games with a time slot you'd prefer, I could possibly make accommodations. My groups have really been encouraging me to expand the setting with more players in order to really bring Atlasi to life, naturally developing the cultures and history WITH the players. Can't find a religion that quite fits your divine PC concept? LET'S MAKE ONE! Do you have a cool pact concept you'd like to implement into the world? LET'S GO! Are none of the nobility in the area you start in smarmy and pompous enough for you? LET'S CREATE THE MOST HATED NOBLE HOUSE IN THE KINGDOM!
I usually write my individual group story arcs adventure-to-adventure (roughly 5 sessions) with larger narratives playing in the background the players can choose to involve themselves in if they wish, considering long-term character development for long-term players. While I have spent waaay too much time delving into the politics and cultures of Atlasi, none of it is required knowledge. I just do it for that sweet, sweet immersion. Between my live play and play-by-post options, I can host roughly 100 players! I feel that's enough to make the world interesting without dwindling the significance of each individual player.
For your first paid session (FREE SESSION 0), each method of play comes with a free miniature of your character, complete with any familiar, animal companion, or one small pet/accessory they may have. Basically, I buy it on HeroForge so I can use it in Talespire and print one off for you. Every seat purchase comes with a one-week 12.5% discount on orders (activated upon completed payment) from The Fabricator: Our personal 3D Blacksmith! You can stack that discount up to 50% if you buy four seats!
In my live online games, I use Talespire VTT (I own guest seats, of course) supplemented with images, and Discord for voice. I really like Talespire's camera features, and I use them to give our sessions a nice cinematic lift along with music, voice acting (upon request), ambient sound, and lighting. As a player, you barely have to know anything about it if you don't care to. In my Play-By-Post option, I still use Talespire for the majority of my visual aid and combat, supplementing it with images. I can also run solo players in PBP with all the same potential for crossover play.
The themes, tones, and play styles I utilize are generally determined by a multitude of factors, but the story we're telling for each adventure is the most important one to me. To feel like a living world, I want to tell stories about hope and triumph as much as I want to tell dark tales of cynicism and despair! I want our group of scrappy ne'er-do-wells to stumble their way in-and-out of a paladin-led plots involving demons...and then run away! We want a level 10 party's actions to create work opportunities for level 1 parties miles away!
As we gather more players, I'll be adding "hardcore mode" sessions and seasonal live events. Ask me about them!
Come get to know me a little bit. I can answer any questions about my setting and how I run things, and I usually respond within the hour if I'm awake (Eastern Time). Message me at any time on here, Startplaying or Reddit: https://startplaying.games/gm/thechroniclesofatlasi
