Hi I've been trying out VTT games for the last few months and I'm irritated by the voice lag on discord. Web searches suggest that Mumble and Teamspeak may offer better voice with less lag. Can anyone say whether this is true in practice?
I've never had voice lag on discord, and I not only play D&D that way, I play fast-paced multiplayer shooters and MMO raiding. You may want to try asking on a discord forum / subreddit.
You can always give a different free voice chat platform a try like Google Meet etc.
I also don't have problems with lag - but the sound quality is ... obnoxiously bad. And also Toxic or whatever their premium thing is called is stupidly expensive.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.

You’d be better served asking this question in the general discussion channel. This channel is for those who are advertising games.
