I am looking for one player that is interested in a spot in my Thursday campaign. This campaign is completely free. A player had to leave at the end of the "opening arc" for the campaign. There are a couple of people interested, but I feel its always good to cast a line out and see if there is anyone that really seems like the best fit.
TL;DR One player had to leave. We meet Thursdays at 4:30 PST for 3.5 hours. We have had 10 sessions, the party participated in a survival test, they are finding the results out next session. You would start on 12/18, then break for Christmas and resume on 1/2/26. You would be either a character that was on another team (your choice of race, class, background, etc) or someone that is on the island for whatever reason (a merc, a former contestant, a random bystander, etc. etc.) - we can work out the small and big details together to make sure the introduction and integration seems as natural as possible. Fill out this form if you're interested: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdx6GcrGz6UB_NMFnIecn197Weobb_gt1rxLEFVmxQzOAXlsA/viewform?usp=dialog
When: Thursdays from 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm PST (Starting w/ session 1 on 9/11/25) Weekly sessions, with a short 10-minute break midway. Day/time is non-negotiable. Please only apply if you can commit to that slot consistently (barring emergencies). We will NOT have a Christmas session, so you would join this week (on 12/18) and then have a 2 week break before we resume weekly sessions on 1/2/26.
The Campaign This is a long-term campaign. The past campaigns I ran were about 1 year and 1.5 years each, so please consider whether or not you would be in for the long haul. System: We’ll be using the 2024 ruleset. I have the books, along with many others, and content sharing active.
World Info The game takes place in a fully homebrewed world, rich with its own pantheon, cities, and cultures. This particular section (as previous ones were in other sections of the world) is in a nautical region - a collection of many, many, many large and small islands. I run a salvaging system where monster parts can be harvested and either sold or used for crafting magical items, giving combat an extra layer of reward. Homebrew spells are rare and tied to in-world mentors, available only if your character seeks them out. The world is built to be immersive and interconnected, with secrets to uncover and lore that adapts to the choices you make. Again, this will become more consequential if/when we transition into the full-length campaign.
What I’m Looking For in Players: Age: Preferably players that are in their mid-to-late 20s or 30s, but I am open to anyone above the age of 18 as long as they have good table presence Experience: Doesn’t matter much. Mechanics can be learned. Two players are new-ish and have picked up everything fairly quickly. What matters most is being kind, engaged, and socially aware. I also have a complete doc that walks you through character creation on dndbeyond, so please don't worry about that it'll be simple to do together. Table culture: No spotlight hogs, no talking over others, no wallflowers who never contribute—we’re here to collaborate and have fun together. I do emphasize the fun part. Yes, we are telling a story (maybe even a deeply sorrowful one), but there hopefully will be a range of emotion as we tell it together. My regular players have all shared many tears, cheers, and laughs together - sometimes over a random but well-timed dick joke. I mean...to me, it's all fine in reasonable moderation. Inclusivity: LGBTQIA+ friendly. If that’s not your vibe, this isn’t the group for you.
About Me (the DM): I’ve been DM’ing for a little over 5 years. I've DM'd two full-length campaigns in the past 3 years, both of which ran through to completion. I love building stories collaboratively, weaving player backstories into the world, and creating those “aha!” moments that surprise everyone at the table. My DM style is warm and organized, though above table I lean heavily into sarcasm. You’ll get docs for lore, pantheons, and character-building support, and I’ll always work with you to make sure your ideas fit meaningfully into the game.
Requirements: Discord A decent microphone (nothing fancy, just clear without static) A decent computer (again, nothing fancy, just be able to run Discord, Dndbeyond, and Roll20 all simultaneously)
