I’ve spent the last two years with arguably not that good of a DM if you want more info on that just private message me but I became friends with them and decided to stay around but after these two years, I kinda wanna get committed to more of RP heavy than I’m use to with people just kinda wanna have fun
Here are some details about the One Shot game I am running. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions.
Game: D&D 5e (original 2014 Rules) ONE SHOT.............NOT 2024 RULES!!! Group type: Online through Fantasy Grounds for characters and maps. We use Discord for voice. Experience: I am a veteran DM. Have played all versions of D&D. Location/Timezone: I am based out of Los Angeles, Ca.....Pacific Time Zone. Schedule: Every Tuesday Night from 5:30p to 9pm PST (8:30p til Midnight Eastern Time. The One Shot should go for 3 to 4 sessions. Roles sought: The Party will start at 5th level and quickly advance to 7th level by the end. I have one player so far that will be a genasi Warlock. Game style: I would say that my planning style is probably 70 / 30 combat, but I do like role-playing and puzzle/test/challenges.
Hey Kaos — thanks for putting that out there, and honestly, that’s a very relatable place to be after sticking with a table out of loyalty rather than fun.
I’ll be transparent up front: we may not be a perfect 1:1 replacement for a single, fixed, RP-heavy campaign with one DM. However, if what you’re really looking for is better roleplay, more engaged players, and DMs who actively support character-driven stories, then what we run tends to scratch that itch far better than most LFG results.
You might want to take a look at The Nexus.
We’re an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly D&D community built around a Westmarch-style structure, meaning multiple DMs, multiple worlds, and a strong emphasis on player agency. That structure actually works very well for RP-focused players, because you’re not locked into one DM’s style or one table’s energy — you can gravitate toward the games and DMs that match what you want.
What we offer:
18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly community
Westmarch style with each DM running their own world
Global community with sessions running every day (including EST-friendly times)
RP-forward tables available, alongside combat-balanced games
Play by Post / TRP options available for deeper character exploration
D&D Beyond campaign links for content sharing
D&D 5e (2014 ruleset) with all official content
Level 3 start with 35 Point Buy
A lot of our players came from situations exactly like yours — tables where RP took a back seat, or where “having fun” slowly turned into obligation. Here, you can test the waters with a one-shot, find DMs whose style clicks with you, and naturally build toward longer arcs without pressure.

Though I’m highly intrigued the timing would conflict with me since midnight Eastern standard time would not work since I have to get up at 5 AM

Roleplay is encouraged at my table but we're not that good. We try and that's what counts.
