Message me if you guys find a DM. I am in the Central timezone as well, and my roommate and I are looking to find a group online to play with once a week for several hours. Although, we work 3rd shift, so our availability and days off may be hard to accommodate. Looking for a group, regardless.
Hello, I'm in CST too and I am up for DMing if you all want to. I am fairly new to DMing so if you guys are very experienced you will have to give me a little leyway. I'm down for playing too if you guys find a DM. If it's ok I would like to start on a adventure and then homebrew later. Message me if you want me to participate.
What are all of your preferences for an online game? Roll20, FantasyGrounds, something else...? Voice-only or Voice & Video? If video, what apps do you use/prefer (Discord, Hangouts, Skype, ...)? Homebrew or AL?
My preferences: Haven't used Roll20, but I have an account and would be willing to give that a try. If we use a tool like Roll20 or FG, then voice will work, but I'm open. I'd prefer homebrew because I don't do AL.
Lastly, I haven't DM'd for a long time, but MIGHT be willing to DM, but I'd prefer to find a good story-telling DM to play with until I could build up the world I'm working on.
I don't have FG so if you all want me to DM I would rather try d20 even though I'm very new to it. I would prefer video and voice but if I'm the minority then I'm fine with just voice. I know they have google hangout in d20 so you might want to use that. If I DM I really wanna try out the adventure Out of the Abyss but I can try to homebrew more if too many people already played it or would rather have homebrew. I'm very flexible.

I'm down with using Roll20 and both voice/video. I haven't played Out of the Abyss yet, but was possibly going to DM it (for the first time in a while) with my other group in the near future. When I say homebrew I'm also lumping in playing the D&D modules like Out of the Abyss, but not as AL characters. Bottom line for me is I don't want to play AL characters.
Looking for a group to join remotely. I'm in the Chicago-area (CST), can play most evenings from 9pm CST.
Also in CST time zone and would like to join a group. If we could just find a DM and 1 or 2 more.
Also looking for a group, and I'm in the Central time zone as well.
Hello. Question. Does remote means to play online? or does it means face to face?

It means online.

I've tried Roll20, Google Hangouts, Skype, Facebook, Discord, Rolz and Myth Weavers. I'm waiting to try Fantasy Grounds as I have no cash...XP

If you are DM'ing with FG, then you need to buy a license. If you're only using FG as a PC, then you can use it for free.
Would I have to be in the central time zone to play if not I would be highly interested

Yeah I'm cool with all of that. I don't have FG either so it'd be Roll20 for me as well
Oh alright I wasn't sure what you meant. I really haven't played AL anyway. I'm very flexible and I believe DnD should be pretty flexible as well.
We should make a group PM on here so that it's a bit more concise!
