I'm Dusty, or Harry, and I've been working on a ruleset for Dungeons and Dragons that helps make playing in the Danmachi world a reality. This is a part-interest, part-recruitment, part-feedback post, although I doubt I'll find enough people who are interested in playing anyway.
For those who don't know, "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?", or Danmachi as it is often shortened to, is a Japanese light novel and anime. The story largely takes place in the city of Orario, following adventurers who delve into a deep and mysterious dungeon with the blessings of gods to defeat monsters and make a living.
A few key changes to D&D rules: - Classes have been removed. Character abilities come from leveling up and choosing abilities and racial abilities. Proficiencies and magic are derived from a priority table at character creation. - Experience is used to increase ability scores. - Downtime system - Point magic system - Ability scores changed from Str/Con/Dex/Wis/Int/Cha to Strength, Vitality, Agility, Dexterity, Magic, Sharp and Charisma.
Hello there! I am interested in joining this game despite only watching about 3 episodes of the anime as to me Danmachi in DnD sounds like a really cool idea!
Not sure if this topic is dead or not but how exactly do you handle monsters? I like your whole plan and all but how going to go about running monsters?
Woah, sorry, I don't check D&D Beyond much. This was a guidebook for players mostly because I created it with myself as the DM in mind and pretty much just winged it.
I don't think I'd be able to run it again, unfortunately, sorry. I was working on things like skills and developmental abilities, but that was a lot of work and I said I would continue to add them as I went, but I ended up losing interest in updating the system. If you want to send me ideas on the system, you can comment here, which is where I put a lot of the problems I had with the system and some of my experiences and advice to people looking at the system to run.
Since this thread still appears on Google searches for "DanMachi D&D", I'd like to mention that the torch has been picked up and carried forward for playing D&D in the world of DanMachi "Is it Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon?" if anyone is interested in playing in this setting. We have a free-to-play Discord and Roll20 server called "DanMachi D&D" where we play D&D5e on Roll20 and rp on Discord, set in the world of DanMachi. The play is West Marches/Living World style, and we've been growing this server and community for over 1.5 yrs now. If interested, check us out at:

P.S. I am very aware of how some things are broken. e.g. ability scores, weapon speed and health.
Can you add the ability of the Alf lineage (as Alf Regina)?
