Great news! Our first AMA was a success, and we're incredibly happy to say that we're going to continue doing it each month. I'm working on arranging the next guest, but in the meantime we're going to need a home to keep these organized in. Enter: a mega-thread.
We now offer a monthly D&D Beyond Staff Ask Me Anything on our forums! Each month we bring one of our team members to answer questions here in our forums about themselves and their work with D&D Beyond. Check for announcements on our Twitch Dev Updatesand this forumin advance of the AMA each month for our guest announcement and to find the thread you can use to ask your questions in.
In this thread, you can find the guidelines for the monthly event, as well as quick-links to past AMAs, where you can read-up on what our previous guests had to say.
What is an AMA?
AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything", it's a thread on our forums where you can ask questions, and our guest will answer them. Your questions can range from serious D&D Beyond-related questions, to general inquiries like whether they enjoy pineapple on their pizza.
AMA Guidelines
Please do not reply to nor answer the questions of other users, let our guest answer the questions given to them.
Unless more clarification is needed to properly answer your question, please refrain from asking follow-up questions to avoid clutter in the thread.
Remain respectful of our guest and their time. They will be answering questions throughout their regular workday, answers will not be instantaneous. While guests will try to answer every question, their department with the company may not be the right one for your inquiry. We will work to have guests from different departments each month.
Remember there are Rules as Written (RAW), Rules as Intended (RAI), and Rules as Fun (RAF). There's some great RAW, RAI, and RAF here... please check in with your DM to determine how they want to adjudicate the RAW/RAI/RAF for your game.
Our April AMA will be with Dave Hartless, the VP of Engineering! This AMA will take place on April 25, so mark your calendars, because it's sure to be a good one! We'll post the thread around 12-24 hours prior to the start of Dave's time to answer questions so our international member base has time to ask their questions.
Our April AMA is being MOVED! Dave Hartless, our VP of Engineering, is going to be visiting with the wonderful folks at Wizards of the Coast (our new family!) next week, so we're sliding the AMA to May 2.
I'll be organizing another May AMA still, so you're not missing out on one--we're just stacking them both in one month!
