I am really excited for this to go live. I already am in love with what we have so far...and there is more coming!!! THANK YOU, so very much! I saw in your commercial there was a build up for Drizzt...does that mean y'all will have build ups for legendary NPC's or is this just something you were showing off for the character builder?

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

This is really outstanding! Not only is it exciting to participate, but I just have trouble reading the books sometimes with or without glasses, but have no trouble reading things online.
Interested to drill down into the different sorting functions and how well they work. Any thoughts on adding an encounter builder to to tools? Something based on XP or CR and that can be used in conjunction with the Monster list.
An example: I want to build a multiple enemy encounter. I search the Monster list, find some interesting foes and select "Add to Encounter". The tool would then do the needed math and calculate the XP (or equivalent XP) of the encounter. Inside the encounter builder tool you could customize the size of the party, their level and it would tell you how it compares to the recommended XP value. Maybe even the encounter level (Easy thru Deadly).
As it stands now, I'd guess that would fall under Beta Phase 3: Home-brew Integration and Campaign Management. Though being a big fan of Kobold Fight Club, it's really something I'd like to see much sooner.
So can we only view spells right now, or is there a way to add it to a list so you can cycle through the spells your character has?
So far it's only a searchable, filterable reference. I imagine customized and save-able spell lists will come with the other character features in Beta Phase 2. And no, there's been no announcement or timeline given yet.
We appreciate your interest and participation in the first phase of the DDB beta. We are committed to be your digital D&D source - a toolset that enhances the Dungeons & Dragons experience for all players. To pull that off, we need your help. Thanks for answering the call!
D&D is more popular now than ever, and it's no secret that the fifth edition of the Dungeons & Dragons game has seen incredible success. In my discussions with the D&D team, comments from other players, and my own experience, a common theme emerges - the comprehensive playtesting prior to launch made the difference. We want to walk that same path as we set out on this journey. If it isn't broke, you know?
This also informed our decision to open the beta to everyone. The more players we can get to engage and provide feedback the better!
Beta Phases
The beta will have three major phases to focus testing on specific features prior to launch this summer:
Phase 1 - Compendium, Listings, and Forums
Phase 2 - Character Builder and Character Sheet
Phase 3 - Homebrew Integration and Campaign Management
These are major features, but not everything that will be available at launch. Other content and features will also be pushed to beta status as they are ready to test.
We will provide updates as each phase goes live. Also look for more specifics and feature previews all along the way.
What's available in Phase One?
At this point, you can use all basic rules content in the Compendium, the three major Listings (Spells, Magic Items, and Monsters), and share feedback and talk all things D&D here in the Forums.
I've been using this stuff for a couple of months at my own table, and it's already hard to live without. We wanted to go ahead and share it with everyone else.
It's beta. Will I lose anything along the way?
We have no plans to "wipe" anything that you create or use during the beta before launch. This is less relevant for Phase One since all the content is reference material, but it applies to later phases.
Where and how can I provide feedback or ask questions?
This thread will be locked and won't allow comments or replies. To share your feedback or ask questions concerning the beta, create a new thread in the Beta Testing & Feedback forum. To report a bug or any other issues, create a thread in the Bugs & Support forum.
Also feel free to let your voice be heard in our other forums.
Thanks again for your participation!
I am an old AD&D Dungeon Master.....I can hardly wait to, get back to playing the game I love so much!
It's release as an app is just for north américa for now? I'm from Brazil and can't find it for download....
It seams to be amazing by the way, thank's!!!!
The forums and the searchable spell, monster, and rule compendiums derived from the SRD are all that is available so far. You are in the beta, this is what there is to begin. More will come later, and eventually an app.
I'm sure this has already been answered, but when can we expect phase 2 and 3.
It hasn't yet been answered. We are basically just being seated at the restaurant with free bread and butter - no word on when the appetizers and main course will be delivered! ;)

Downloadable apps almost certainly won't come until later in development. It makes more sense for them to get it working on a single platform, and solidify what user interface works best, how best to organize the information, what to include, etc. before codifying those programs for multiple platforms.
Thank you so very much for this. I have a type of dyspraxia that makes it difficult for me to turn pages, but I can get by on a computer fairly well. Since I do not have pdfs of the source material, this makes everything easier for me. Again, thank you so very very much.
Sounds great, but I noticed that the official D&D adventures and supplements are not in. I can't search for Barovian hags nor can I search for the Wyrmskull throne. Maybe that can be an idea.
All that is available at the moment is the free content from the SRD, along with the forums. We haven't been given a timeline as to when content from the hardcover adventures or non-SRD material from the core books and supplements will be made available. That content may not be until the beta is over, and subscriptions and purchases begin. We haven't been given any answers yet, and this thread was never meant to remain open for commentary. You'd be better off searching or posting for answers here:

... that moment...
when you realize how much you missed the WoTC forums.
Welcome back an Official DnD WoTC forum, if for that and that alone. Well done.

I noticed this and was definitely intrigued.
