Tresvar adds to the group- “with Goblins, we probably should make sure we have some bows or crossbows and ammunition. I have some rope. Is there anything else we think we might need? “
Lutgehr takes Serena's armor with a bit of a blush. "You could have changed over there" indicating a curtained stall. "I shall have your armor ready in the morning."
Serena's Recognition of the name Ashardalon:
From literature Serena studied while trying to learn more about Flappy, she recalls that Ashardalon was a powerful red dragon known for his depredations and unorthodox methods to extend his own life. He was described as having demonic features and a scar on his chest in the shape of an enormous winged humanoid. It is rumored that eventually he received a wound he could not recover from, and in a last attempt to extend his life, he disappeared into the timelessness of the Astral Plane. While in Faerun, stories associated him with The Cult of the Dragon, a cult who venerated undead dragons, or dracoliches.
"Came prepared." Serena answers smiling, pointing to her crossbow and the rope strapped to her backpack. "I also have some tools with me to negotiate locked doors if you ever would get tired of smashing them in with that hammer of yours Tresvar." She adds and winks at the gold dragonborn.
On the way from the smithy Serena tells the others that Ashardalon was a powerful red dragon known for his depredations and unorthodox methods to extend his own life, but he eventually received a wound he could not recover from, and in a last attempt to extend his life, he disappeared into the timelessness of the Astral Plane. Stories associates him with The Cult of the Dragon, a cult who venerated undead dragons, or dracoliches. "But I´m sure we won´t run into Ashardalon the dracolich down in the ruins of the Sunless Citadel." Serena adds with a nervous laugh.
"The General store next perhaps?" Serena says to the others as they leave the blacksmith.
Tresvar adds to the group- “with Goblins, we probably should make sure we have some bows or crossbows and ammunition. I have some rope. Is there anything else we think we might need? “
Lutgehr indicates the crossbow bolts and case on one wall, "If you need bows and arrows beyond these, I believe Stagglow works with a decent bowyer and fletcher."
"The General store next perhaps?" Serena says to the others as they leave the blacksmith.
((DM: It is late afternoon/early evening. You had discussed going to the Inn for food or drink. You can also go back to the General Store/manor. The Hercule Manor where you will be staying the evening is attached to the General Store, run by Kerowyn's family))
"Hmmn. All this talk of goblins has given me a few ideas. We can discuss the specifics over dinner tonight. For now I was wondering what you think the best bet for visiting the general store would be. It is getting late... they may already be closed, though perhaps our patron can get us some special after hours access. I would like to see about a few items: chalk, a steel mirror, an extra water skin, and perhaps some extra climbing gear. Now, we could just grab dinner now and visit the store in the morning, but I know we are all keen on getting an early start on our trek to the Citadel." Banjo shrugs as if to say, what should we do?

Livia follows along, though she has nothing she wants to buy. All she could think of that one should buy before adventuring - she did already. The others seemed like they have much to prepare for, but she had no idea what else she could use. Walking next to Serena, she just observes the others and tries to learn from their experience.
"The General store then it seems." Serena says, shrugging and smiling, following Tresvar. "Have you considered wearing some light armor Livia? It could save your pretty skin when those goblin arrows come flying." Serena says, trying to prepare Livia as best she can for the next days adventures.
The party heads back toward the Hercule property. They arrive just as Kerowyn and the clerk have completed putting the items from the wagon load into inventory. She is surprised to see the group again so soon, but welcomes them into the store.
Most common items can be found within the shop to varying amounts.
Regarding the items already mentioned you find on the shelves and displays:
8 pieces of chalk - 1cp per piece
2 steel mirrors - 5gp per mirror
3 water skins - 2sp per skin
rope, hempen (50 ft) - 5 coils - 1gp per coil
rope, silk (50 ft) - 2 coils - 10gp per coil
6 pitons - 5cp per piton
5 grappling hooks - 2gp per hook
There are also 4 packaged Climber's Kit's at 25gp per kit
"I don't know..." Livia answers sheepishly "I tried putting on armour once, but only made an embarrassment of myself until I had to ask the shop keeper to help me get it on, and then it was very uncomfortable. I... had a different idea for protection, if things get dangerous, but I don't even know if it will work."
(Sorcerers don't get proficiency in any armour, *shrug*.)
Assuming he can purchase all that, he had 3sp remaining to his name.
"For those of you who have coin remaining I can offer the following advice from my readings: 'One never died from having too much food, water or rope.'" Satisfied that they have the secured at least the bare essentials, Jebeddo is ready to visit the tavern... though he's a tad concerned he may need to dance for his supper after filling his pack with supplies.

"How do you mean a different idea for protection? Please tell me." Serena says curiously to Livia while looking around the General store and realizing it is just out of oil flasks.
"Oh, I heard of this very well-prepared adventurer carrying around so much stuff that he was the slowest in his party fleeing a bloodthirsty troll." Serena says to Banjo without mentioning what happened to that particular adventurer. "Don´t forget to rate this place too Banjo." She adds with a smile.
"Should we drop by the Shrine or is it perhaps dinner time?" Serena says to the others as leave the General store.
"Serena, I'm glad you mentioned the shrine. I am not intimately familiar with the church of Pelor so I am not certain how they would handle this request... but it might be worth our while to invest in a vial of holy water if they will part with it. I don't know how likely we are to encounter fiends or undead, but given how little we know about what awaits us, I think that is one 'box' we have yet to 'check.' Of course, we may be able to wait to visit them until morning. I know we plan to leave bright and early, but as they worship the DawnFather, I expect the shrine will be up and awake long before we are."
He adds, "And don't worry. I shall not omit our client from the review process. Indeed, they shall be held to the same scoring system Volo asks for all of our reviews. To grant them a bonus or easier scoring based on our pre-existing relationship with them would be highly unethical... or at the very least, a gross abuse of my responsibilities as a representative of Volo's Guild. That said, I was quite pleased with the service and selection,"Banjo says with a grin.

"Well, they did only have three flasks of oil, which apparently was just enough for the needs of our esteemed friend Tresvar." Elyria answers with a smile and a wink at the gold dragonborn. "On to the Ol´ Boar Inn then companions." She adds.
The General Store has sufficient supply of all that Banjo seeks.
The companions complete their shopping, noticing that they are the last customers in the shop. Kerowyn has excused herself to prepare the adventurers' room for the evening. The clerk politely and efficiently completes your transaction and closes up the shop behind you as you leave.
The sun has set and the road is lit mostly from the windows whose light spills from the buildings along it. There are a few street lamps, but not as frequently as in many cities. The upside is that they are all lit, without the vandalism which is also in the larger cities.
The companions find their way to the Ol' Boar Inn. Like many inns, it is mostly a tavern, with lodgings an afterthought. The barman greets the party as they enter with a warm "Welcome". There are few customers this evening, mostly a farmer or merchant having a drink before heading home.
The party sits down to a table and the barman approaches, introducing himself as Garon, the proprietor of the establishment. The smell of simple, but kitchen cooked meats piques the hunger of the adventurers after so many days of camp prepared food. Garon offers:
He eyes each of you inquisitively, particularly Tresvar. "You must be new to Oakhurst. Passing through or maybe staying over from caravan duty, perhaps from Neverwinter or ...?" he leaves the question lingering in the air.
Treavar orders the lamb (ooc looks awesome) and ale. (Took the money off my sheet)
She replies to the innkeeper:
“I hail from Waterdeep, most recently. I am a Knight of the Grey Hand, sent on this mission of goodwill for Volo’s efforts from the BlackStaff. I am Tresvar, Gold Dragonborn. My companions and I appreciate your hospitality.”
Garon guffaws, "Oh-ho-ho! All the way from Waterdeep! And associated with Volo no less! His name we used to hear often, although less so these days. Used to be every adventuring group coming through would have his name on their lips. Now we rarely see adventurers interested in the area... more seem to be just passing through to points further off. Quite curious I am, if you forgive me, as to what mission could be drawing yourself and your companions all the way from Waterdeep to our quiet town. What could require your, erm, specialized heritage... very curious indeed, given the history in the area."
"Well, I..." She seems somewhat uncomfortable. After all, she still hadn't told anyone about her abilities. "Before I joined the guild, I thought of a few things I could do if... you know, things get violent. One of them is... well..." She's having a hard time, trying to think of a way to tell Serena without revealing her powers. But, then, she realises that's wrong. Serena had done so much for her, out of kindness, it wouldn't be right to keep her in the dark forever. She takes a deep breath first. "I don't know for what purpose, but when I was young, I was... I was blessed by the gods." To strengthen her words, or if Serena looks a little sceptical, after making sure nobody else is looking (this would not be done inside one of the stores), Livia opens her hand, revealing a small figure in her hand which resembles Serena, though obviously an inanimate illusion. "This manifested in some magical powers I'm learning to control. My parents... feared I might hurt myself trying to use them, so they forbid me from practising. Thus, I have only a little experience with controlling them. One of the things I practised making with these powers was a magical barrier to protect me. I've never tried it in action, though, so I do not know how effective it really is."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hey, that is fantastic Livia." Serena says clearly exhilarated over Livia´s revelation. "Blessed by the gods no less, any god in particular you think?" She asks curiously, smiling and tilting her head. "We are not that unlike each other then Livia. I too was granted powers as a child but although I do not know that much about them yet I do know they are connected to something called the Feywild." She continues while revealing a small figure of Livia in her hand, smiling and dancing joyfully (recasting minor illusion if necessary to get the motion :-) "My parents at first thought it was just the fantasies of a child when I came home and told them about my friend Flappy the dragon and the mysterious lady in the glen, but later they actually saw me as blessed by the woods in a sense. I can see why you ran away Livia, it is not right to deny anyone the right to be who they truly are, and you my friend are someone very special." She finishes, taking Livias hands to comfort her.
Later at the Ol´ Boar Inn Serena also goes for the Lamb chop and an ale to go with that. "Are you referring to the rumours of a dragon cult Garon? We are as you might have guessed going to the Sunless Citadel but that is not why we are heading there. We are a team from Volo´s Adventurers Guild contracted by Lady Kerowyn to find her lost children somewhere in the Sunless Citadel. It would be most helpful though if you could share you´re knowledge about the place, which should be extensive I would imagine since every adventurer who went that way during all these years probably passed through your lovely establishment. The name is Serena by the way." Serena says smiling to the barman. Persuasion if needed to get him talking: 21 rolled with davantage if anyone gives the help action, otherwise go with first roll as per usual.
