Seeing Calvin's feverish agitation, Khessa suspects that he and Nixi have spotted a danger ahead and stops, observing the lizard quite elegant moves.
'Now he will transform again into a form that allows him to talk to us and explain what is there ...' thinks the blonde arcane warrior; but it happens instead that Nixi suddenly begins to speak softly beside her and Eric, warning them that there are two dragonclaw lurking in a deeply shadowed alcove to the south.
"Since they seem so eager to ambush us, let's return the favor!" suggests the tall adventurer, in a low voice "Let's proceed as if we did not know anything... but as soon as we see the alcove, we jump and attack! If they do not understand that we are aware of them, acting so suddenly we might take them by surprise, not the other way around".
Khessa's plan requires Deception checks. (Assuming Khessa is whispering. The "!" almost indicates she's shouting 😉)
...But worst it can happen is the two dragonclaw understand we know of them and nobody is surprised, right? We might not get an advantage, but we will not have a disvantage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Mmmh, so they abandoned the camp but at least they were expecting visitors" Eric mumbles "or they left something behind, something worthy of their protection... that's both unexpected and interested" he tightens the grip over his hammer "maybe we are going to have another chance of making some dragon omelettes" He smiles under his barb.
In case of another deception check is needed: 6 + 1 (guidance)

Correct, nobody is surprised. There's that awkward moment when you walk by and try to "ambush" each other, but the fight breaks out in initiative order (which I will role):
Round 1
Dragonclaw B - 19
Eric - 18
Khessa - 18
Dragonclaw A - 17
Kriv - 15
Zale - 13
Calvin - 5 (Lizard)
Nixi - 4 (invisible)
Dragonclaw B runs to the first person he sees and take to sings with his Scimitar, tagetting Khessa:
First swing is a 14 to hit (that misses I believe) and the second one is a 14 again. You deflect one swing with your Greatsword, the other harmlessly scrapes off your Chain Mail.
Khessa cleaves with her greatsword from the opposite side of her dwarf friend's attack, hoping that the enemy will not be able to defend easily from the combined blows.
Khessa is about to be hit by the second opponent, but she is ready for him: a pair of arcane words and an elegant gesture bring an invisibile barrier in existance and the blow is deflectd.
"Haha! Zale laughs as she stabs the Dragonclaw through the neck. She pulls it out swiftly and he falls to the ground, blood flowing from his mouth and throat. "Heh, You got what you deserved."

You all notice Lizard Calvin and you're all pretty sure something is wrong!

Nixi will also tiptoe back to the group and warn them (verbally) of the ambush ahead. (Nice lizard-dance, though!)

Eric responds to the attack, swinging this hammer, trying to take advantage of the Dragonclaw's missing

(Correct, 14 it's a miss)

Eric lands a good hit! But Khessa misses.
(Crap only rolled to self)

Anyway the other Dragonclaw rushes to help his mate, attacking Khessa with advantage because of Pack tactics:
First swing: 13 + 5 = 18 to hit for 5 + 3 = 8 dmg + 7 dmg from Fanatical advantage that's 15 dmg total.
Second swing: 10 + 5 to hit. That's a miss.
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
Khessa is about to be hit by the second opponent, but she is ready for him: a pair of arcane words and an elegant gesture bring an invisibile barrier in existance and the blow is deflectd.
Zale smiles as Calvin the lizard dances in circles. “So they didn’t leave after all. That be a major mistake on their part.”
Drawing her rapier she rushes to help Khessa, stabbing at the closest one.
To hit: 22
Damage: 6
Sneak attack: 12
That would be Dragonclaw A, you can describe how he dies. Unless Kriv kills him first (he's first in initiative order).
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
Kriv charges Dragonclaw B and takes a swing with his greataxe.
Attack: 13 Damage: 8
