No thank you. You guys aren't getting a chance to use or see them because we aren't playing in realtime but the maps portion of DDB has a lot of tools as well. They make handling/hiding/adding/removing/measuring the distance between tokens super easy.
I can live with the layers being wonky (and honestly, I probably just haven't figure it out yet ... so it is less site limitation and more user error).

Tableplop has the same features too. Fog of war, you can toggle what's visible and what's not. I mean we don't need to see them in web page. Just thought you might want a different tool if layers are wonky.
It's the token support. On this site, I hit +Toadstool and +bullywug and they drop into the map. On a different site, I would have to (for the party at the very least) do some sort of grab the pic, edit the pic, host the pic elsewhere/upload the pic on the website ... just to get a usable token. I'm not tech-savvy, and I hate the grind of anything that takes more than 1-2 steps to make it look how I want it.
Goddammit and I thought our party messes up a lot.
The party I DM for just split and one went to dive for treasure. And now a triton barbarian and fathomling warlock has a hunter shark issues :/ Level 1 fyi :D
Warlock followed her patronesses call. Barbarian followed.
I mean the shore party also got attacked, but by giant crabs, not a 20 foot shark :D Both of the players are rather confident tho, so I have no clue what are they up to :D
Awesome battle map by the way. I enjoy how many environmental obstacles there are! Especially the water in the middle is a cool choice. Froggywoobs clearly have strong home advantage here which is great.
ahhh sorry I didn't respond for a while. my mental energy was just spent and I just wasn't in the right headspace to respond. I'll write something in a bit
He got out his shortbow and put it at the ready ...
@SunDial, please be more specific with your ready action. I am not clear what action you intended to ready (attack, I'm assuming) or what would trigger it.
I think you guys are joking, but as far as RAW, there is no such thing as a critical failure.
If a 1 is rolled on an attack roll, it misses, but other than resulting in a miss there are no other effects.
The other two types of d20 rolls, ability checks and saving throws, have no special rules about 1's and 20's. The result either meets/exceeds the target or it doesn't.

Oops sorry! I was thinking like him running with it pointing at the toads kind of like in a video game or in a movie. But now that I am reading what it means I don't want him to just shoot blindly if he's not even close. I think I'll just have him take out the weapon and just run. sorry about that!

Ready, as an action, is sort of like 'I hold my action' from previous editions.
Except, you aren't really holding your action and then deciding what to do with it at some later time.
When you declare a ready action, you say what you will do, and what will prompt you to do it. Ready is the action you take during your turn.
'I attack the first skeleton that comes through the door.'
'I keep my bow drawn and shoot the first enemy that moves.'
Anytime after that before the start of your next turn, if the event you said was a trigger happens, then you get spend a reaction doing the thing you said you were going to do. The reaction occurs just in front of the thing that triggered it.
^^Spells make it a bit weirder ... but Balen does not have to worry about that.
Also, you should probably brush up on a rogue's class abilities. The Cunning Action they gain at 2nd level is kind of their thing.
Also, not trying to be a jerk, but the rules for the game are located right on this website. What may be done in a round, what those actions are, what they do, etc.

If there is something you are trying to refresh your memory on, it is all right here.

^^ Yes. The giant toad is mounted by the fifth bullywug. If there is a way to address the map layers for tokens, I haven't found it yet.
Try "Tableplop". Very easy to do things with maps. Has distance measuring, drawing, layers etc. Free version is quite OK.

Shoot shortbow when critically failing Persuation check.

Critically this time was meant as "Horribly", but yes, noted
I thought as much.
There have been a few instances of using game terms interchangeably with other words that do not carry the same meaning within the game.
Just making sure.

I don't think we are talking about the same thing, but the ready action is described here.
Taking no action is perfectly fine (although I would suggest the action, dodge).
sorry I wasn't sure what it really meant. Thank you for the explanation. I was looking at an article I found and was trying to figure it out.
OH! OKAY I WILL SWITCH TO DODGE *eyes emoji with sweat*
