Eppie grits her teeth. She glances around for what the beast saw, as she could tell it wasn't looking at her when it spoke, but she doesn't see or hear Adams. She sends another thought out to the group. "Now it's gone. Some 'new prey' on my side of the gate got its attention. It didn't see me; I don't know what it saw, unless one of you approached. It's hidden in the rubble in the courtyard somewhere. Either I need backup--and don't forget Vox IV--or we need to abort and retreat. I will move when you tell me your position." She stays right where she is for the moment, knowing that she hasn't been seen yet. But she looks upward above the gate. Is the courtyard open? Is there a wall running above the gate that provides a higher vantage point into the courtyard?
The lizard bird sees Toa's distracted expression and chirps again, loudly.
There's a high wall around the courtyard... scaling it would be difficult, but most likely possible. There is open sky above the courtyard, so you could try to scale the walls and drop into the courtyard to find the beast if the party decides to go after it.
(So if we scale the wall we can see the courtyard better, which is where the beast is.)
Simon will say with a cool almost unnerving tone in your mind, "We must deal with this beast or it will be a hindrance in the rest of our mission. Let's see what you made you all valuable to this mission."
He will then take a deep breath and almost as if he disappeared he will run (using Feline Agility) pick up the lizard and scale the outer wall so that he reaches the top and crouches down so that he is not easily seen. Once he is at the top he will pull out his Revolver lizard on his shoulder.
Since he is a tabaxi his climbing speed is the same as his walking speed and if he needs to he will use a bonus action to make his total movement 120ft in a turn.
Simon and Pinion are both able to easily scale the wall... and looking into the courtyard they get a good look at the carnage.
It looks like there are six twisted corpses, counting the one on the ground partially-eaten. Due to the extreme cold, it is impossible to say how long they have been dead. But you do not see any signs of the feline monster.
I'll need Stealth checks from Pinion and Simon if they don't want to be immediately spotted by the creature.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
The little feathered lizard bird, scooped up by Simon, merrily rides along and clambers up onto his shoulder, bending its neck down to peer into the courtyard from the shadows.
Meanwhile Eppie is still standing there near the iron gate, frowning, blurred out of visibility, tapping her jaw as she drones on in everyone's mind, "I need Vox IV, there's a keypad by the seat, 3378, that's the homing code. I've got a grappling hook in there that can get the rest of us to the top of the wall."
Toa's brows furrow and his lips move visibly as he mouths out 3... 3... 7... 8, pressing buttons after he eventually finds the keypad on Eppie's metal buddy.
In his head, still with a hint of wonder at the telepathy, he replies "No climbing for me. I can just switch places with my echo through the gate if I need, by the power of Tāwhirimātea's storm." (Or by the powers of specific neural actuators within his brain, but Toa is not sure about any of those things).
With that, the islander approaches the gate and his echo slips soundlessly, fluidly through tiny gaps in the gate. The echo ends up inside, 30 feet away from Toa and in a protective position in front of Simon, Pinion and Eppie if possible. (IF readying actions outside Initiative is allowed, Toa readies a maul attack from his echo's position on any apparent foe who gets within 5 feet of his echo).
Toa himself remains lounging laconically just outside the gate, looking around one edge so as to be a bit less visible.
With a whir of motors, the machine creaks back to life, and it bounds through the snow after Toa as he approaches the gate, skittering awkwardly at his heels, as if it's trying to get past him without running him over, but without having the right pathing algorithm to go around him. Eventually it finds its window to pass him, and Eppie, seeing it coming, brightens with a grin, and rushes over to it as it slides to a stop in the snow. Her outline blurs back into visibility as she leaps onto its back, facing backwards as it lurches forwards towards the wall. Keeping her balance, the goblin reaches into the packs secured to its side, throwing a block and tackle over her shoulder, and pulling out a long silk rope and a grappling hook.
As the machine stops at the base of the wall, she stands up on the seat on its back, quickly tying the rope to the hook, and she flings it as high as she can towards the top of the wall...
Eppie tests the rope, and then securely ties the end of it to Vox IV. Then she climbs up the wall, hanging onto the rope.
Adams can use the rope to climb up to the top of the wall as well.
Once everyone is up who needs to use the rope, Eppie starts fussing with setting up the block and tackle so she can pull Vox IV up to the top of the wall too, since she isn't strong enogh to haul it up herself. But the sound of the flying arrow from the courtyard distracts her and she swings around to look down into the courtyard, pulling out her revolver.
Pyx, the feathered lizard bird, chirps as it sees Eppie, and scrambles down from Simon's shoulder to scramble up on Eppie's. The goblin barely flinches, her attention riveted on the courtyard. "That beast can disappear better than I can," she grumbles, mentally, to the group. "Maybe we can trap it." She is already regretting not putting a bullet in its back when she snuck up on it.
If nothing too emergent happens in the next few seconds (ie, rolling initiative), she goes back to setting up the block and tackle to haul Vox IV up onto the wall, working as fast as she can. Pyx helps, grasping the rope with her claws from the goblin's shoulder when Eppie hands it to her.
I'll go ahead and say everyone who wants to is able to climb the wall after a rope was dropped down for them. The beast is still hiding, and hiding extremely well...
Anyone who is on the wall and wants to go unseen will need to make a Stealth check. Otherwise, let me know whether you're going to try to fight the creature, and if yes, how you plan to do it.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Small beads of sweat drip from Eppie's forehead as she wrestles with her rope and block and tackle, and immediately frost over as they're exposed to the freezing air. She mumbles silently to herself as she finally gets the block and tackle rigged and begins to haul Vox IV up to the top of the wall!
Beast's Perception: 25...
Its ears perk up as Adams approaches, and it turns to look at him.
"New prey..." the creature says with a wicked grin as it sees you. "Perhaps you will give me a worthy challenge..."
The creature laughs and disappears into the rubble...

Meanwhile, Toa's echo appears inside the courtyard... and immediately an arrow sails towards it!
