Zarbyn will remain quiet for now since it seems they are giving him and his companions a chance to rest and recuperate before meeting with Inauniq. Hopefully they will get a chance to also confer with their high priestess Aisulu. Every bit of information that might lead them to the third cache would be of great help.
These people and their ability to make a home way up in the mountains simply astounded Zarbyn. And their size... he could understand why many believed they were nothing more than myth. He wasn't even sure they existed until he actually met them and was now face to face with the reality of it all.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"Hum, we do not have maps, but if Inauniqdecides to help you, there are those such as the one you saw come in from the south that know the paths and mountains better than I and could look at your maps, recognizing landmarks. Inauniq may want to trade with you. I suggest that Salmon you mentioned unless you have other things of value to us. The fish is a delicacy and may have great value in trade.
If the council decides to help you with your quest, it will be a great boon for you, as my people do not help visitors often. They fear it will anger dark spirits and interferes with the natural order of the world creating disorder. Then dark tidings will occur to our people."
Vydar stays close to Charlie as the group walk into the troll camp. He tries not to make eye contact with the curious children, but does stand up taller when they begin to stare. He hates feeling small.
He takes note of the elvish-looking troll, and glances at Iolinder when the other elf notes the man as well. However, the young dark elf remains uncharacteristically quiet as the party continues speaking with the strangers.
Amdaeng is having a great time, she's no stranger to new and interesting peoples as Fang, especially at the time of The Contest of Champions attracts folks from as far away as Khul and The Old World.
She introduces Ning to anyone who seems interested, she's always been shorter than most people she meets so her current situation is just a more pronounced gap in height.
She examines the children in particular with a friendly grin.....
All are quite interested in the tiny full sized bear, and Ning seems to like most of the people here. The fighting circle has some interesting unarmed combat techniques some practice, using arms, feet, knees, elbows, and even heads as weapons. The large people are surprisingly quick.
Amdaeng notices a few things before going into the yurt to get cleaned up and ready for the council meeting. First, the large hybrid troll elves are much faster than they appear to be. Second, they have some sort of way of activating tattoos which have various effects both physically and with damage. Third, their method of hand-to-hand combat has some similarities to her training, and if she were to spend some time working with some of them, she would likely gain some knowledge.
The group heads into the warm Yurt. In the center is a large fire. A table has some nourishment, both in various slices of meat, some bread, and various roots (no vegetables), and there is an area where you can clean up and change into some non-traveling garb if you choose. You have some time to talk amounts yourselves if you wish before you will be summoned to the council and agree it would be wise to figure out what you might say to them.
(Natalie Storm's Journal also has some information about her dealings with the Toa-Suo people, and cache 3, which based on the snow in the area, may be difficult to find on your own)
(On the map, you are the RED spot. The goblins (presumably with artifact 1 are on the blue path, perhaps a day or even two days behind. If you are lucky, the will continue toward the unmarked cache on the road to Silverton, but you doubt it, remembering that when you were on the road, there were goblin tracks already headed in that direction, while you choose to follow the tracks heading up the mountain toward cache 1 and 2 (Red trails). As you look around the valley you are in, it seems fertile. Trees and wildlife abound, and a river runs to the north and east, following the mountain range. To the north, you assume is Stormy Peak and the presumed location of Cache 5. The peak is massive, towering over the snow-covered mountains in front of it and you wonder if those in your group are skilled enough to actually ascent such a massive endeavor without the aid of someone skilled in both mountaineering and the best way to get to the top.

Iólinder took out the notes and maps left behind by Professor Storm. He wanted to go over them one last time to help formulate the questions he should ask. At the very least, he figured, the Toa-Suo could help point out any unusual activity in the mountains. The cult of the dragon and Shareella's minions might operate covertly but not to the extent that they could hide completely from the native people, Iólinder mused. He also had a couple of questions regarding the pyramid they encountered. A structure like that with the magical defenses it had just screamed magically advanced civilisation.
Lira reviewed the notes more closely now that they had time, trying to piece together all the information in her mind the best she could.
Investigation to notice any special connections to what she's witnessed: 25
"Ebony contains spells to...appease earth spirits? Hmph, doubt it's very effective with that vision attached to it..." She mutters to herself, unconsciously rubbing her finger where she'd touched the idol.
Lev follows along, letting others speak as he just waits and watches. He stays at the back of the group for now, where he can keep everyone in his sight. As much as he wants to trust these people, he can't let go of his hard learned wariness.
He looks around for anything that could be useful, or dangerous...
Perception: 14 (Vydar is trying to take in anything and everything. Basically looking for anything that might stand out to him.)
Vydar stops examining his surroundings when Lira starts talking about the idol. "Appease earth spirits?" He sits down next to her and looks over at the notes, and frowns. Then he moves a bit away from her and absentmindedly fiddles with the leather straps holding the pouch containing the figure in place. "That vision. What...what exactly did you see?" He sounds as if he had to drag those words out of himself. He doesn't particularly want to relive that vision, and he feels terrible asking her to do that exact thing. However, he needs to know. Especially since the vision attached to this idol thing...well the trigger for it seems to be more sensitive. Lira had apparently only touched Ebony, whereas the dagger had only affected him after he'd attempted to use a spell on it.
Lev also notices the combat training. There are those using Blaine and halberd weapons, swords, and staffs. They seem to use fluid fast motions and use their enemies attacks to fuel additional attacks. He also sees that some of the tattoos on the warriors are magical and enhance attacks and defenses.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"In order to build trust with these people I think we should share the reason for our quest to find cache 3. Professor Storm had cultivated a friendship with them in an effort to gain their help in finding cache 3 and it seems like a good idea to continue her efforts."
Zarbyn helps himself to the food and begins to relax and take advantage of their time to rest and recuperate. He joins Iolinder when he takes out the maps and notes and begins going over them. He will try to cross reference the various sources in an attempt to find any clues that may help in dealing with the traps of cache 3.

"The vision..." Lira grimaces faintly as she crosses her arms at Vydar's question, steeling herself and thinking back. Unfortunately the memory is clear as day, etched into her mind with no hope of fading anytime soon.
"It was in that same dark room where you found me. A woman was chained to the altar...A priestess of Libra. The goblins came in and their head priest sacrificed her just like with Aldrin, with the same damned dagger. Dissolved her beating heart out of her chest...Then...Then that statue of Myurr came alive and ate her, and l-looked right at me."
Vydar develops a theory that the artifacts and the daggers have a relationship. He wonders if the blood of a priestess of Libra was used in the creation of the artifacts, and, clearly, the black daggers/ claws of Myurr were used to kill these victims. Thus, the artifacts in question are tainted and were made using the sacrifice of an unwilling victim, and the claws were the implement of their terrible deaths. He wonders if either the memories or even trapped souls of these innocent people were used in the creation of these terrible artifacts, and it reinforces how powerful and dangerous they would be in the hands of either group that is seeking them.
Zarbyn considers Natalie Storm's notes. He thinks asking the Toa-Suo may clarify what they know. Of concern in her journal entry are the words, Tomb and Crypt. Also, magical curses and clever traps, and that she noted this place might be the most dangerous of all of the caches.
Iólinder may be able to get more information about the Pyramid from those of the Toa-Suo. Perhaps an elder or the high priestess Aisulu may have knowledge. He too hears Lira's tale, which has the element of a priestess of Libra in both visions, and Myurr coming to life. He concludes that the artifacts are VERY dangerous and could likely possess one who touches it. In addition, he may be concerned that Myurr could inform his priests of the location of the artifacts, using spells such as Locate Object, and Augury to help direct their search. Therefore, you doubt the group that took the blue path will go off course, giving you a days head start. In addition, Nimkas words about dark spirits and creating disorder are worth noting, and are also concerning.
"If the council decides to help you with your quest, it will be a great boon for you, as my people do not help visitors often. They fear it will anger dark spirits and interferes with the natural order of the world creating disorder. Then dark tidings will occur to our people."
Amdaeng observes Sukhbaatar, a strong charismatic woman troll/elftraining in unarmed combat, that when some of the young tribal members are training for a coming-of-age ritual. None of these younger members have tattoos.
Warrior Initiation
Young warriors undergo a coming-of-age ritual, which typically includes a series of tests that assess their survival skills, combat abilities, and knowledge of the mountain terrain. These rituals emphasize the importance of strength, community, and respect for the natural world, reflecting the Toa-Suo's adaptation to their challenging environment.
Lev: Temujin, a battle-scarred grizzled warrior, running combat training uses a weapon much like Lev's glaive. However, Lev notices that when he attacks with the weapon, he will also complete a second attack with the opposite end of the weapon, which also has a spike on it. (Polearm Master Feat).
Lira: As Lira recalls the tale, she feels intense anger and even hatred toward the Cult of Myurr and the snake demon Myurr himself. The cultists are cruel and evil and cause terrible pain and suffering to their victims.
She also feels great sadness at Aldrin's death, and even though she only spent a limited time with the Kobold Sorceress, she feels like she actually lost a sister in the tragedy, along with all of the brave Kobolds who fought to the death to keep her and her sisters safe. You recall Miderah staying behind at the pit so that you and Aldrin could proceed. You snap back to the yurt and your surroundings, and you realize that you have unconsciously been holding the amulet around your neck. It occurs to you that there are some inconsistencies in what Shareella told you when you first met and the story you recall hearing in your teen years called The River of Blood: (Shareella said: "It is a priceless heirloom from a Sultan who once loved me, ........"No, unfortunately, my love died, most tragically I might add. Men, so proud, so ignorant, so jealous."..........We are a peaceful nature loving group living together in a community of love, friendship, and respect.” Then you also recall Madiras words: "She can’t enter this place, she was not invited.” You wonder if the characters of Nemset and Shareella have been mixed up over the centuries in the telling of the story (OOC: Do you know that telephone game kids play, where the story changes as it goes down the line?)
Cast of NPCS you have met or heard names in camp:
Inauniq Village elder
Aisulu: high priestess
Nimka (Female warrior that found you)
Baatar (Male Warrior that found you)
Na’ah’tali Sh’torem: The tribal name for Professor Natalie Storm
Tseren:Lean Scout, more elf than troll but still large, great stealth, has a hawk on shoulder
Temujin:Grizzled warrior, running combat training
Sukhbaatar: A strong charismatic woman troll/elf running hand to hand and grappling training
(I dont' have the best pics. Each of the Toa-Suo range in height from 7-10 feet, and are clearly some sort of Troll/Elf mix. They seem like a very strong and spiritual people, very connected to the land around them, very tough.)
There is a knock on the outside of the Yurt. It is Baatar. "You have a few minutes to make yourselves ready, and then Inauniq and the council will meet you."
Lev eyes the training, wondering what the tattoos actually signify and what it takes to obtain them aside from the coming of age ritual. He's not very fond of the idea of tattoos, but the idea of something that could help bolster his ability to protect his comrades was appealing. That's not to say he's about to go ask about them. Clearly it has something to do with the customs of the Toa-Suo, and he doubts they'd be willing to share those secrets with an outsider.
He isn't sure what to make of their reaction to his previous statement about Natalie being murdered. Perhaps the statement hadn't registered to them. However, judging by the fact that the adventurer had a tribal name with this society, they knew her very well. He has a feeling that if this is brought up to the council things will either sway far in their favor or far out of their favor. Either way, the cult needs to be addressed.
It doesn't take much for Lev to ready himself. Unless there is a washing station open to him there isn't much to be done about his appearance. He looks like what he looks like, and if that includes the dirt from the road then so be it.
Amdaeng is more than a little taken by Sukhbaatar but contents herself with observing before joining the others ready to be presented....she doesn't really have anything clean to put on so makes do with a quick bracing roll in the snow....
Zarbyn likewise uses the hour to make himself more presentable and refresh from the road-weary image he had from their recent travels.
"They may not want to get directly involved due to their beliefs on how the spirits will react but any information they share about cache 3 will be welcome."
