Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, Eldeth draws both short swords and looks Buppido squarely in the face. "It seems the time to part ways is upon us, derro." She then repeats Buppido's mantra for his own hearing, "Believe in Diinkarazan and if you are meant to live, he will make it so."
(Assuming Buppido is departing.) Beegred thinks Eldeth has made a wise decision... As long as the party does't object, Beegred checks Tozer's backpack for the waterorbs.
If all 3 are there, hand 1 to Buppido so he has water and food for the next day.
If there are less than 3, Beegred guesses that Buppido has already helped himself, and says that out loud.

Xilyrah and Eldeth briefly lock eyes and it is immediately understood between them that Buppido can no longer be trusted. Xilyrah says as much to the party.
Turning back to the Kuo-Toa she says in their shared tongue, "The derro is no longer our traveling companion and is thus no longer under our protection. Do with him what you will. As promised, we will not prevent you from passing, but if you would be willing to allow our Ranger to view what plants you carry in the small hope you might possess the one he needs, we would be most grateful."

Beegred removes one of the three Waterorbs from Tozer's backpack and hands it to Buppido. Eldeth and Xilyrah's message is understood by everyone (undercommon), and Buppido retreats down the tunnel with his final parting words, "There's more than my way for all of you to serve Diinkarazan's divine plan!"
Xilyrah convinces the Kuo-Toa to display his wares for Beegred, but asks what can be offered in compensation?
Narstin frowns as buppido leaves the party, but doesn't say anything. At Xilryah's prompting, he also moves to the side of the cavern, looping the hammer back onto his belt and holding his hands out in front of himself.
(Worst possible Investigation roll. Even a natural 1 would have let me roll again.)
Beegred still isn't used to his new Darkvision, and is having trouble focusing on the plants. When the Kuo-Toa start getting fidgety around him, he gives up and stands aside to let them pass.

Beegred casually glances over the bizarre assortment of plants bundled into the Kuo-Toa's basket, but is too disturbed by the eyes that seem to always be looking at him from the various nearby traders and their escort. After Beegred shakes his head in the negative, the Kuo-Toa wraps his goods, hauls his bundle onto a shoulder and the staff bearer Kuo-Toa orders his procession to keep moving.
As the Kuo-Toa disappear around a corner, everyone beds back down to continue their rest. There are no other disturbances other than the occasional distant echoing of "Diinkarazan" from very far away.
The eight day of travel opens up into a massive cavern filled with stalactites and stalagmites. You don't manage to cross the entire cavern before feeling the need to sleep. You set up your camp and arrange your watch shifts. Not long into the first shift, Narstin definitely hears a creature moving about in the distance.
"I hear something moving out there," Narstin whispers to the others on watch. "Someone should go investigate what it is. I'd go myself, but I suspect either one of you could move quieter than I can."
"I'll go," Xilyrah offers, "but my eyes feel as if they could tumble right out of my skull. Do you have any cleric tricks that could refresh them? I want to be ready if it happens to be that zealot derro trying to sneak up on us."

Xilyrah gives Narstin a wink of gratitude as his hand goes from her shoulder to pointing in the direction of the noise. Moving as quietly as possible she creeps farther into the cavern to see if she can discover who or what has disturbed their watch.

Xilyrah and Eldeth can tell that Buppido is looking like he doesn't trust any of you at this time. Do you do anything?

(Beegred can roll investigation.)
Xilyrah responds, "Regrettably the derro was all we had for trade. We will delay your progress no longer. May your gods provide you safe journey."
And with that, Xilryah moves to one side of the cave, hands in front of her and instructs the others to do the same.
