Narstin gives a start as he hears voices (he swears they're real, he's not crazy!). He gives Sarith a shake and whispers, "Did you hear that? What did they say?"
Narstin finds Sarith is becoming beyond unreliable. Completely unaware of Narstin's question, Sarith stands up, hefts his pack and says, "We need to get to Neverlight Grove." Sarith would begin walking, if not for Narstin holding him back.
Not wanting to let go of Sarith for the time it would take to wake someone else up, Narstin grabs a handaxe off his belt with one hand and tosses it at his nearest ally that speaks undercommon (I'm not sure who all knows the language), hoping to wake them up without having to be too loud.
(Thinking like an underhand toss for it to land on them to hopefully wake them up, not throwing it as an attack. Ideally trying to have it hit flat or with the haft or something, not with anything sharp)
Narstin holds onto the confused looking Sarith and uses the most convenient item he has, a handaxe, to lob towards Jimjar sleeping nearby.
Jimjar sits up startled and looks at Narstin holding onto Sarith, "Feels too early for my shift. I'll wager a gold you woke me up too soon. What's up with him?"
"He's not the problem," Narstin responds quietly, "At least not entirely. There's been yelling out there," he motions in the direction the voices came from, "Talking in undercommon. Which I don't understand. And Sarith here seems to be losing it. He's trying to keep moving to Neverlight Grove. Doesn't seem to notice when I talk to him."
Jimjar looks in the direction Narstin points and says, "Bet it makes more sense for me to check out the voices and for you to deal with Sarith?" Without waiting for an answer, Jimjar goes to investigate...
... and returns some time later with a big smile, "Great fortune! An expedition of Deep Gnome traders are returning from Mantol-Derith. They've been forced to take some detours, but that is our good fortune. They have gems, coin, food and a what's left of their wares to trade!"
Jimjar speaks enthusiastically and loudly enough for everyone to wake everyone up (if they wish).
Krizzibond cracks one eye open and looks towards Jimjar "what is with the racket? traders you say? well that is good news perhaps they know where we're going."
Beegred: "Do they speak Common? Do they have asprig of mistletoefor purchase?"
(If they don't speak Common, he will ask Jimjar to interpret. If the DM is going to make a roll to see if they have mistletoe, I am willing to use the DM Inspiration on that roll.)

DC 15 Persuasion for them to have some and be willing to sell.
They do not speak Common. But jimjar or Stool solves that problem.
(If that is below 15, then I will use DM Inspiration. Begreed will fall on the ground, clasping onto a trader's ankles, sobbing about how he reallyreally needs mistletoe. Roll: 4 )

The deep gnomes look as chagrined as you do for not having what you so desperately want. They inform you that most of their wares sold in Mantol-Derith and all they have left are a few crafting kits, some food, jewelry and the equipment they carry, which includes some empty bags. For trade, they are primarily interested in gems, as they are particularly useful for deep gnomes, but will take gold as a last resort.
Rodolfo will enquire them about a good saw and pliers, possibly some chisels and other tools used to work wood, metal or stone. He's proficient with woodcarver's tools and would prefer these, but will settle for tools to work with any of the previous material types.
If they happen to have some inks and paper / notebooks, he'd love to look at those too.
The deep gnome merchants would not be familiar with 'wood' tools, but Jimjar understands what you want and the merchants offer a Zurkhwood working kit, which looks exactly like what you are looking for. The offer it for 1 gold 5 silver and look at you expectantly.
(Roll a DC 15 Persuasion if you are looking for ink that can transcribe spells. Otherwise roll a DC 10 Persuasion for regular ink.)
The merchants explain that the Trillimac mushroom makes a very good thin leather-like 'parchment' to write onto and can be found randomly in the underdark. It is not worth their effort to carry something like that as it's too common and easy to harvest.
Beegred's CON save: 9 (if this counts as poison, he has advantage on the save: 7 )
EDIT: Nevermind, it was the explosion. 1D6 thunder damage: 3

Rodolfo persuasion check: 19. Will buy as much as they have, for all the 150GP that Rodolfo seems to have.
Will take the Zurkhwood working kit. (Should I be adding Woodcarver's Tools to the inventory?)
The merchants have enough ink to transcribe 2 spell levels and ask for 150 gp. (just a coincidence that is what you have).
(If you settle on 1.5 gp, you can add the Woodcarver's Tools to your inventory)
Rodolfo is happy and packs his stuff away.
