I never knew my parents. I was adopted and raised by a tribe of human nomads. They were killed by a combination of bandits, enemy soldiers, and bad luck. I was forced to grow up much faster than normal for an elf. I wound up a mercenary, leader of a small all-female company. Most of them died too. The only ones who might have survived that ambush are my second in command, Niall Coineagan; and the company mage, Adaidh Seadhg. It was in that ambush that I discovered my powers as a mystic.
Mmmmm, what do you think of my PC be part of your female company? I'd like to play a Tabaxi ranger
Sounds good to me!

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin
Been having trouble decided what I wanted to play but since Matthias seems to be going mystic, that helps me narrow it down between either tiefling bard or... Something paladin. On that note, is the Abyssal Tiefling from UA acceptable? I'd link it but I'm on mobile and getting UA links is nearly impossible for some reason.
I posted a summary for viewing here below. There's a lot of big stuff in the backstory, so don't take this as set in stone if you see some problems! I'm definitely willing to change or even rewrite it all-together if need be!
Special Abilities Expertise. Ashley's proficiency bonus is doubled for Athletics and Stealth. Sneak Attack (1 / Turn). Ashley deals an extra 4 (1d6) damage when she hits a target with a weapon attack and has advantage on the attack roll, or when the target is within 5 ft. of an ally of Ashley that isn't incapacitated and Ashley doesn't have disadvantage on the attack roll. Tavern Brawler. Ashley is proficient with improvised weapons and unarmed strikes, which deal a d4 of damage. When Ashley hits a creature with an unarmed strike or an improvised weapon on her turn, Ashley can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple the target.

"What, ya wanna fight? Sure, just lemme finish my drink." - Ashley Alden, Daughter of Alden Enterprises
A Mischievous Grin. Ashley Alden is a short, delicate young woman akin more to a porcelain doll than a living, breathing creature. She's just shy of 5'6", kissing the margin closer than she gets to the men and women she teases on a nightly basis. Her chestnut-colored hair spills over her shoulders like a waterfall in the Deepwood. Ashley's neon-green eyes held an almost supernatural chill to them, and whenever she gazed upon you, it was akin to the petrifying stare of a basilisk.
A Flowery Ensemble. Ashley dresses stylishly from head to toe. A white dress that ends halfway up the thigh is tucked under a decorated, leather corset. A peach jacket with brass buttons is then secured underneath a iron and leather belt. A royal purple cloak is pulled over her shoulders, and a matching cavalier with a white swan feather is tucked in the front. A pair of simple flat leather boots and leather gloves completes her outfit.
A Hidden Arsenal. Ashley carries a brown backpack over her shoulders whenever she's out adventuring. A shortbow is strung across her right shoulder to her left hip. A rapier also is sheathed at her left hip. A bracer is secured to her right hand, hiding a single dagger. The other dagger is located at the back of her right boot.
Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds, and Flaws:
"If you aren't having fun, then you aren't trying hard enough." After 21 years of being starved of entertainment, Ashley seeks it out whenever she could now. She spends lavishly on clothes, drinks in bars and spends hot, vulgar nights with beautiful men and women. This desire comes across to others as incredibly outgoing, playful, and flirty.
"When I call you a friend, it doesn't just mean I like you. It means I'll be there for you until the bitter end." Nearly anyone can get close to Ashley, but because of her incredible frequency of intimate encounters, it takes much more for her to reach that scale on an emotional level.
"I'd rather be caught dead than saying this, but I love my parents more than anyone in the world." Ashley despises her parents for several reasons, the biggest being her grudge against her father for giving life to her through a prostitute. However, as they are the only ones who've truly stuck through her life, she secretly loves them more than anything.
"I don't know when enough is enough." Despite her age, Ashley is very young and socially-inept. She lacks the experience of a man or woman growing up on the streets. Because of this, she doesn't know her limits, or when something is being pushed too far.
"She felt there was something more out there, more that she could do for not only herself, but the world."
When the War began, many people had lost something. Whether it was their crops, their businesses, their homes, or even their lives, they had suffered a great deal from its' coming. There was a select few who gained from it however, with one of those being the Alden Family.
The Alden Family is one of the major manufacturers supplying the goverment for the War. They owned the blacksmiths, sold the axes and the longswords by the boxes, and transported the weapons of war across the land. Naturally, they were quite successful, and became quite happy about it.
Ashley Alden was the exception. The secret bastard child of the Alden Family, after her father partied too hard in a brothel in the upper districts of Pel, grew weary and tired of her days in confinement. She felt thirsty, thirsty for a new place, a new life, outside of the safe walls of her father's estate. She felt there was something more out there, more that she could do for not only herself, but the world.
In-turn, Ashley began making secret expeditions from the estate to Pel, to quench that thirst and to find meaning somewhere else. Somewhere where she belonged. It is in one of these secret expeditions that she comes across the life of adventuring.
I'm putting in my interest to this game (Toothless totally didn't talk me into it >.>). Going to build a monk of some sort, if that spot isn't already taken in the party. Unless you're full. Let me know! I'll be building her.
