Germain cautiously nods, "I think letting people know there is a possibility that she is an assassin would help people be more cautious and limit her opportunities for future action. But I don't think we should act or openly speak against her. Perhaps just let our respective clients, and your guards know. Perhaps the other wizard and his apprentice as well. But beyond that, we should focus on the mission."
Toc nods, and lets everyone know, "Do not make it wide knowledge, but inform those who you trust to keep it close. And we will keep an eye on her from now on. I'll have my familiar watching her tent during the night."
Toc will keep an eye on the woman from now on using his familiar to spy. He'll change his familiar every other day, between Spider, Lizard, and Rat so that she's less likely to always see the same animal nearby watching. He also heads over to the wizard. He messages him, "I have a very strong suspicion who the would be assassin is. But....I find knowledge held for a time can be more valuable than that drawn upon immediately. I attempted to speak to the caravan leader, but she refuses to act, and doesn't trust me more than anyone else. I, and some allies, plan to keep a close eye on her from now on, and hope to catch her red handed." He reveals who the assassin is to the wizard.
Taviel shared her "strong suspicion" with the other two guards under her command and her employer. She did not openly pointed finger at the but spread the word to those she knew personally and they were free to let it go further.
That night, even though a watch is kept, Edhelri Lewel disappears. She was going about her business as usual, but, even with all of the eye son her, she simply was there one moment and gone the next. (31 DC perception check if anyone wishes to try to spot her.)
The next morning Loren comes to Toc. "It seems you were likely correct, Edhelri Lewel is no longer with the caravan." She shrugs as she gives Toc a direct look. "I assume you had nothing to do with that. There is no body to be found, so I assume she simply left, but I am getting really tired of people ending up dead, or disappeared, on my caravan."
Toc raises an eyebrow as Loren speaks to him, then responds, somewhat cooly, "I was watching her, and she vanished before my very eyes. I did make some noise when watching her yesterday, so she likely knew she was being watched. Beware though, her not being around at the moment doesn't mean she isn't following us and ready to do her work from the shadows. She had some unknown purpose and I'm not sure she's done her work. You may have had more answers if you'd been more decisive when I brought this up yesterday, but I understand if you are having troubles determining who to trust. To answer you directly, no...i did not have anything to do with her disappearance."

Naroth will curse at the disappear of the possible assassin and then will make a move toward her wagon to search it, mainly looking for the totem he recently found and lost.
The first evening after her disappearance, Germain will wander over to her two guards, "Excuse me, have you seen your employer around recently? I heard someone say they were looking for her and realized I haven't seen her all day. She's alright, isn't she?"
Had Germain informed the group, Ulric would have gone with him to question the guards at the wagon.
(He wouldn't have announced it, he's not trying to question them, just make friendly conversation. But he would have given a heads up notice so others might, 'linger' in the background to listen in.)
You find your totem in the wagon. The two guards though don't seem to know anything aobut it.
Germain
"No clue." One of the guards says with a frown at Germain. "Our job is to get the wagon on to Waterdeep though, and we were told, when we signed on, that she might need to leave, without warning, so to just keep on to Waterdeep." He pats his coin pouch. "Even paid us up front, just in case she had to leave suddenly."
You have a day of uneventful travel, following the likely assassin's disappearance. then...
On a beautiful, sunny afternoon, a herd of deer is spotted grazing on a nearby hill. The travelers take such opportunities to hunt fresh meat for the larder. This herd, however, includes a magnificent stag (use elk statistics) that shimmers in the light as if its coat is spun from gold and its antlers plated with platinum. Nearly everyone in the caravan who can handle a bow wants to bring down that beast. Its pelt would be worth a fortune, even if it’s not real gold. A few of the more cautious types warn that the creature is clearly a blessed being and that killing it would bring bad luck on the caravan, but no more than two or three people are persuaded. In minutes, the hunt is on, and the deer herd scatters into the nearby forest and through farmers’ fields.
Naroth eyes the fleeing elk and as much as he wants to go hunting, he decides it is way more important to stay around the caravans, keeping a watch on things.
Taviel stays alerted - disappeared assassin in her books was more dangerous than the one on the open - but other than that just normal guarding duty, nothing special.
Germain attempts to get permission from his client to join the pursuit, and, if given, he chases after it, doing his best to keep up with the others, but making a nuisance of himself and doing his best to "accidentally" miss the stag and disrupt the attacks of the others. Working to help it escape with at least a vague effort not to appear to be doing so.
Toc crouches nearby thinking as the people seem to be convinced to try and kill the creature of beauty. His mind swirls in dark patterns about the fate of mortal creatures and their need to kill things around them. He's torn, with the assassin still out there, and with there not being an obvious primary target, he's unsure if he should go try and ruin their hunt...or stay close to the caravan. Message spells communicate with his party, seeing what people plan to do. Germain going into the woods with no other party members doesn't sit well. If they must split, he'll make it an even split. Besides, then he can help Germain ruin the hunt. But....something has been nagging at him. Was the wizard the target of the poison, or was it Toc? Someone was accusing Toc of being the assassin as well. A bit of paranoia is setting in. Best not to be obvious about the hunting. Toc messages each party member to let them know his plan. Then he casts invisibility on himself from within his tent and heads out after the hunting party, moving as stealthily as possible while keeping an eye on Germain.

The stag leads hunters on a 1,500-yard chase to a moss-grown, ivy-draped ruin in the forest.
The stag greets Germain and Toc, somehow able to see Toc even when invisible. The othre hunters call out from nearby, but seem to be on the hunt still, unaware, or unable to see, the stag as it speaks with you. it first tries to speak Sylvan. If neither Toc or Germain speak that language, it switches to Elvish. It assures them that they are on the right track, and they must continue following the river of gold until they reach the castle in the sky. Sadly, their path will be filled with hardship and blood. To aid them, it offers them a +1 longbow. The bow appears on the ground before them, and then the stag fades from view saying, “Not all will survive . . .”
You can change the +1 bow to some other +1 weapon if you wish something different for the group.
Toc looks at Germain, "Does that look like a +1 Rapier to you? That would be pretty helpful to me. If it looks like a rapier. Unless it looks like something else to you?"
Toc continues talking to Germain, "The River of gold is obviously the cultists and their wagon of treasure. A castle in the sky. Likely also a metaphor...perhaps for a stronghold on a mountain somewhere? I suppose we'll have to follow to find out. However, why is the spirit of the land interested in the cults activities? This...makes me worried that something more wide spread is afoot. We should return to the others and let them know what happened here."
