This is a homebrew world. Some Magic: The Gathering content in here!
When the world was 100 years old, the kor Planeswalker Aric planeswalked here. He saw the primitive races, and recognized some as humans, goblins, and elves. He did not recognize any others, but as he traveled, he knew some to be races called ‘dwarves’, ‘halflings’, ‘orcs’, and many others. As the races developed, they built monuments to him. He eventually left, but he had already left a lasting impression on them. This is a brief overview of what the [playable] races are. The races all have their own names for Planestep. Elvish is a language that many races use, because forests are everywhere, so elves live almost everywhere in the world.
Humans
Humans are not spread across the main continent of Planestep, unlike many other worlds. They are confined to a small valley they call Human Valley. They call Planestep Aricland, after their ‘god’. As a result of not leaving the valley, they only know Common and Elvish instead of Common + one language of their choice.
Elves
Elves inhabit the forests of Planestep, and they are the only race that cares for the humans and treats them as equal. They call Planestep Quessir, which simply means ‘people’ in Elvish. They speak Common and Elvish.
Dwarves
Dwarves inhabit the mountains of Planestep, which means they occasionally come into contact with humans, which they treat as unimportant. They call Planestep Quessir, which simply means ‘people’ in Elvish. They speak Dwarvish and Elvish.
Halflings
Halfings inhabit the deserts of Planestep, and they treat everyone the same, no matter where they come from They call Planestep Home, because they believe everywhere is home. They speak Halfling and Elvish.
its a start...i'd take one of the free planeshift publications from WotC and use it for an outline/model/end-goal - If you get to that point..woot...its own to building out the whole world.
Thanks! I got the idea from a character I want to build, and I wanted it to be a planeswalker (Kor Storm Sorcerer). I have already read all of the Plane Shift Manuals, which is where I'm getting the kor stats (Plane Shift Zendikar).
