Can someone point me to where in the 2024 rules it says what happens when a wild shaped druid is reduced to 0 hit points?
The old rules clearly said you revert to your form and only take carry over hit points. This is totally missing in 2024 rules....Thus I assume you revert to your form and are unconscious and start making death saves....much worse....
In 2024 you do not get the HP of your wild shape relacing your humanoid HP until you return to your normal form you get temporary HP which essentially add to your humanoid HP. You still go unconcious when you "wild shape hit points" plus your humanoid HP.
I better comparison is in the 2024 rules you do not lose wild shape when you run out of temporary hp so the change is a buff. At low levels a moon druid does get a lot less HP than in 2014 but moon druids in 2014 were totally broken at levels 2 to 4 and the change is partially offset by a better AC.
When a creature drops to 0 Hit Points, it either dies outright or falls unconscious, as explained below.
While you have the Unconscious condition, you experience the following effects.
Inert. You have the Incapacitated and Prone conditions, and you drop whatever you’re holding.
You stay in that form for a number of hours equal to half your Druid level or until you use Wild Shape again, have the Incapacitated condition, or die.
So you start Wild shape with THP based on level and your current hit points. If those hp drop to 0 you become unconscious or die. If you become unconscious you are Incapacitated. If your are Incapacitated or die you r Wild shape ends.
