Something that can easily be a fun and fast moving game for one person and the DM. I figured I'd post it here since if there are some they wold likely be in the DMs guild. Thanks
There isn't a lot. The game assumes 4 players and can function decently well with six. The game is simply not meant for less than four players as you don't have necessary roles and you come across the unique situation as to how many monsters a PC can potentially face. So if you take an orc dealing 1d12 damage, it is going to take till third or fourth level for a single player to reasonably be able to go against the single orc, but if the PC misses twice, they are probably dead. This varies greatly with what class they are playing and what kind of spells/abilities that they are using which can alter how well they would fair against a single orc. Encounters therefore are so drastically dependent on what the single PC is playing that it would be nearly impossible to plan for it, as such it becomes really hard to make an adventure for a party of one person. Two players may help relieve this to some degree, but not so much. If anything, it may be possible to adjust adventures for three players as you can weaken enemies and lower their number of "minions" and toss in some magic items to make virtually any published adventure acceptable.
If you have two players, an idea would be to have each person play two PCs, with one PC being their primary PC that is assumed to be the one acting when not specified. This would allow them to get a feel for more classes, allow the use of any adventure since by default they assume a party of four, and make sure necessary roles are filled. I personally don't think it is ever a good idea to have a PC controlled by the DM, so I would shy away from using that as an option.
Didn't the OG box come with a single player adventure? Thats kind of what I meant. Not like a full campaign like a fun short couple hour thing where a DM and a single person controlling two PCs could have some fun.
