So I am populating my town of over 2000 inhabitants and have a set of generic NPC stats, but I now want to make some more interesting ones that the party will engage with directly, for instance.
Inn keeper who is a retired arcane trickster rogue,
The wise women who lives outside the town but acts as a medicine women, she also happens to be a Druid who is 800 years old (so effectively level 20) and has all kinds of spells and skill proficiency.
Wizard who owns a magic store and has nefarious plans for the town, has access to level 9 spells.
Now traditionally I would use DnD beyond to create these more detailed NPCs by creating a player character of the right race and profession, setting the stats and then taking that as a template and changing it to make it a viable monster (usually increase AC or hit points) using DnD beyond them as a really simple way to pick my spells for that NPC. then I take those stats and make my homebrew monster so I have them saved here.
But are there any good online resources for creating these NPCs, I have found many that deal with low level, make a farmer, or a thief or a barmaid. But none that let you go through picking spells etc easily.
This is good if you want to create characters that have player levels in classes... it produces full character sheets, including spells and abilities. it might be a little more complex than what you would normally need for NPCs, but I've used it to quickly generate a character on the fly for sudden pick up games.

Thanks this is a bit more like it, I can then change these into NPCs easy enough and simplify some of the stats quickly :)

Thanks but this is the one I use, it doesn't help with the creation of higher level NPC's, selecting spell load outs etc.
