In developing backstories, do you always collaborate with players? In one of my campaigns {PbP} I’ll be sending out dream sequences to players where they’ll get more of an idea of the connections they have to the location (horror, dark adventure - can you guess which module?) Is it okay to just take the deity or patron and whatever player has given you and just run with it? Like, player picked a patron that has some not so great traits and I’ll start him trying to cash in on bargain - it’ll be somewhat dark. Positive experiences? Negative? Tips? Reassurance? Haha anything at this point. I’ve already written them and I think most will be okay.
