I have a party of level 4 characters that will be getting rewarded by elves for aid given. I want to give them elvish feeling items. So far I have the following. I need a suggestion for the wizard. I want it to be something unique. Elven chain is not really worth it for him as his Dex is high enough that mage armor plus mod is better. Besides I want it to be different from the bard.
“It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt, It lies behind stars and under hills, And empty holes it fills, It comes first and follows after, Ends life, kills laughter.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again
That is what my party is doing. One of the PC's father was in a bad situation with a vampire. He basically sold all of his lands and goods to provide magic items for the player's party, but they only got the initial items before he was discovered and killed. The party got a +1 rapier, a staff that gave an advantage on INT saving throws and immunity to 1st level illusions and bracers that up the AC and gave advantage on some saving throws for the thief. Each item had 3 inserts that, when filled, would add to their powers. This was 5th level. At 7th level, they were able to track down the instructions for the 1st set of inserts. Rapier gained +1 and could cast Chill Touch. Staff added +1 to AC and acted as a ring of spell storing (3 spell slots). Bracers added another +1 to AC and acted similar to Boots of Speed. Another is coming up at 9th level, and I think that will be it.

Bard: Elven chain
Paladin: moon touched longsword with a +1
Rogue: Elven cloak
Wizard: ?
Skyblinder staff maybe? Just take a look at that and tweak it to fit an elven aesthetic.
Pearl of power? pearl-of-power

Thanks I really like the skyblinder staff and pear of power ideas. I think either one will work, maybe give them a choice.
For the wizard, how about something like a staff that acts as a pearl of power (or something else cool) but that can be upgraded as they gain levels?
I alway love upgrade items;)
