trying to start campaing on beyond. and would like to get few tips on how things work here and how much usufull it for change of playing tabletop, since my party is my friend at work and its pretty hard for us to gather, but guys are pretty eager to play. would be happy for any tips, especially about battle part on beyond.
Well, firstly, there's no image sharing or voice call feature on DnD Beyond, so you'll need to use something like Roll20 so your adventurers can see maps etc. and talk to each other. In terms of making encounters or battles on here, if you go onto 'collections' there's a tab called 'create an encounter'. All the monsters you have unlocked will be displayed and sorted, and you can set the level of your characters to see how difficult each fight would be. There are loads of filters, from region to type to CR, so as long as you pay attention to the fiddly bits the colours will show you if the encounter is a decently challenging one.
In terms of how different it is to tabletop, there is a definite learning curve when it comes to DMing online, but there are plenty of YouTube videos out there to explain how it's done, depending on which platform you end up using, and you might have to spend a bit of time making sure your players understand how the system works before you get going. Sourcing maps can also be an issue, but Roll20 has them available to buy for each of the published adventures.
Rather than roll20, you can use abovevtt which is a chrome extension that integrates with dndbeyond so you can directly use the maps in any adventures you have access to.
Although i havent brought it into my current game yet I agree with Imalius on abovett. It syncs quite well and makes it easy for people to get into if they already have dnd beyond stuff!

Good luck!
