I'm planning on using the curse from Sword of Vengeance in an upcoming campaign. My question relates to the part that states "On a failed save, you must attack the creature that damaged you until you drop to 0 hit points or it does, or until you can't reach the creature to make a melee attack against it."
Let's say a paladin player is affected by this curse, and they take damage from a goblin archer from 70 feet away and fail their WIS save. The player only has 30 feet of movement. Are they compelled to use that full 30 feet to head toward the archer? Are they then released from their vengeance because they "can't reach the creature to make a melee attack against it," or will they need to continue chasing the archer until one of them is dead or the archer is no longer able to be found? If released at the end of the 30 feet of movement, could they then (on the same turn) attack a different goblin who just happens to be now within 5 feet of the paladin?
Or would the paladin be released immediately since they can't reach that full 30 feet, and be free to attack a different goblin who is 15 feet in a different direction?
What if the archer is only 20 feet away? The paladin technically can't reach the archer to make a melee attack at the start of their turn, so does that release them from the curse?

My read on the item is that you're required to attack your chosen target if you're able to move to attack them; the only time you would be required to move towards them but not attack is if you thought you could reach them and were wrong. However, other interpretations are fine as long as the DM is consistent on them.
