It’s also an ancient Inca / Aztec style civilisation in a jungle surrounded by actual dinosaurs, with no plumbing, gas or electricity. The public transportation system is also pretty poor. So umm no, it’s not as big as a modern city like New York.
Ancient cities both had much smaller populations than modern, and also quite high population densities; 5-10,000 people in an area half a mile across is a reasonably important city.

Using the scale at the bottom of the map and fed it to a VTT (roll20) it shows that the longest extension is just around 2500 ft.
Am I using the reference at the bottom of the map incorrectly?
If I trace that to real life is just a couple of blocks - maybe up to 4 or 6
The map is a projection of the city reaching into the distance, so a flat measurement won't be accurate.
You could count the number of buildings in each direction to see how big it is that way.

it is very small. probably take 15 minutes to walk from one end of the main walkway to the other.
But it is comparable to an equivalent historic site such as Machu Picchu.
