Okay, so the villain in my campaign is going to be a magic user who is using the coffeelock, and i’m trying to make his character while keeping it interesting. basically, a few years ago he started it, and hasn’t slept in years and has been drinking a lot of coffee, so he will be very jittery and paranoid. lmk if anyone has any advice or ideas
The term 'Coffeelock' doesn't actually mean a character that drinks a lot of coffee. It's derived from the fact that read-as-written (it's debated), a Sorcerer/Warlock multiclassed character can effectively gain an infinite amount of 1st-level spell slots by chaining short rests together, instead of taking a long rest, hence the character never sleeps, and hence the connection to coffee.
As for the question, I'm going to need a lot more info on your setting. What tone are you trying to set? Are you running a goofy/whimsical world with one-off joke NPCs and such, or are you going for a more slow-paced, serious game? How would your BBEG's story connect to the players' stories?
Creation Bard 5 (to create the Diamond Dust with L2 spell slots daily), Aberrant Mind Sorcerer 10 (to be able to create L5 spell slots, and get some really cool spells that can be cast directly from sorcery points without any components), Hexblade Warlock 5 (converting Warlock spell slots into 6 Sorcery Points at the end of each hour to be turned into spell slots, Compitent melee combat, and the infamous Eldritch Blast spam), Witherbloom Student Background (gain access to healing spells, including the vital Greater Restoration for this build), Astral Elf (Teleportation without spell slots, Two skill proficiencies (Perception and one of choice chosen daily), immunity to magical sleep, advantage vs charms, etc).
This character can infinitely Coffeelock without any expenditure of resources.
