I have been looking everywhere for a free map builder, that doesn't automatically generate my map for me and I can't find anything! Do you guys have anything that might help me? I created my world a long time ago and I want to put it onto a map. I tried finding something before and couldn't but I figured someone must have found a way.
You could try Incarnate. There is a subscription level but the free version is still pretty good. It can be a bit difficult to get into to begin with but with some practice you'll master it in no time. I use it for all of my maps and they turn out great. Even the pro mode which you pay for is just $25 annually which I think is pretty cheap considering everything you get from it. You should give it a try at the very least, even if it doesn't work out in the long term.
Yeah, got to second Inkarnate - there really isn't anything even approaching it for it's price to value ratio as far as I know, and I have tried as many different solutions as I can.
If you intend to make more than just your world map (city and/or battlemaps) then the $25 pricetag is well worth it. Here's some examples of stuff I've made in it:
If you want a free map making tool. I use Inkarnate. It's all free, however you can do a subscription if you want to get more perks for it. Kinda like D&D Beyond but for making maps.
And even without using the paid stuff maps still come out well.
(Me realizing that other 2 comments also said Inkarnate)

Edit: Its spelled Inkarnate not incarnate.
This is one that I have made, it does use many stamps(images that you can drag+drop) and background textures from the pro mode though.

DM session planning template - My version of maps for 'Lost Mine of Phandelver' - Send your party to The Circus - Other DM Resources - Maps, Tokens, Quests - 'Better' Player Character Injury Tables?
Actor, Writer, Director & Teacher by day - GM/DM in my off hours.
