Hello. I had an idea for a steampunk/dieselpunk setting i'm making, Crimson Legend (yes, I know, It's a generic generic). It's about a corporation that runs over fighting leagues of Constructs (or Robots), separeted in three types, similarly to how humanoid fighting competitions are organized: by size and corporeal mass. In this case, it's size and metal mass. The leagues are: Tin, Gear and Tank.
Tin League is reserved for weak, small or tiny automatons, usually controlled by a humanoid (like irl). Four wheeled, non-intelligent or barely intelligent robots brawl inside a small arena, each one with a gimmick. Different of real life, these robots can handle anything from guns, rockets, auto-detonation commamds and etc. Everything goes as long it dosen't damage the viewers, or the arena.
Gear league are for the medium sized, usually humanoid robots. This time, the fights occur between two machines, and is more focused on hand-to-hand combat, although some minor gimmicks are allowed. It's pretty much Real Steel.
Now, Tank. These are reserved only for the bulky, heavy and monstrous machines: golems, giant warforgeds, etc. The Tank league only makes one tournament each year, and it's treated almost like a cup, with cities sending their own machines alongside engineering teams. These brawls are disputed in stadiums, and usually take one week for the tournament to be over. The prize? One million gold coins, and endless cheerings from the victorious town's folk.
This is what I've thought from now. What do you think?
Sounds like an interesting part of a setting. I think you might get more replies if you talked about how you plan on your PCs getting involved in these robot arenas.
Sounds like a super cool concept for a Eberron themed game. I'd be excited to see how you implement it. Also, don't bump your thread. The mods dont take kindly to that as it violates community standards.
I think if you jot down some ideas starting with it. Maybe some Bot examples for the different tiers, or how the fights work. It could be really interesting. The bigger question I have is how would you involve your players if they wanna get in on the bigger tournaments? Like how would Tank league be handled as participating or prepping for that is a whole adventure Arc in itself.

Thanks. I'm on mobile, so it's quite hard to format.
