So I'm trying to use the map tool to add some Goblin Warriors to the first level of the Dungeon of the Mad Mage maps but for some reason the tokens aren't hiding under the fog of war. I've tried deleting the tokens and re-adding. Ive tried closing the map and re-opening it. Ive also tried erasing the FOW both over just the goblins and THE WHOLE MAP and re-applying it. For some reason though if I add a bunch of them some of them will go under the FOW but once I delete the extras it reveals the ones that were previously hidden. These are the only tokens that this is doing it with and I don't know how to fix it. I'ed rather not have to use the hide button on all the goblin tokens because it kinda loses the effect for my players when you reveal a room and the tokens suddenly start appearing 1 by 1 because they are waiting on me to populate the room with tokens that are already there. Is it a glitch? please help
You have to click on the eye icon in the bar which appears if you highlight the counter. If the eye has a line through it the counter will only appear in the DM`s screen and diagonal lines will appear on the counter. If the counter is grouped with others all the counters should dissapear from the players map but still be visible in yours. The FOW has no effect on counter visibility.
You could radiate a 360° light just big enough to cover the token, would that work? Some systems also draw vision from the corners of the square rather than the centre of the token, check if your system allows it. https://19216811.cam/
Owlbear Rodeo, developed by an indie team who are responsive with support requests. Frankly, it makes D&D Beyond Maps look like an absolute joke. There are also a load of extensions that allow you to add functionality. You can hide tokens, have a dynamic fog of war as standard. Save as your maps from your content and use them on any other VTT of your choice. It really is a better solution than Maps.
D&D Beyond Maps is near unusable for anything beyond allowing everyone to see the same map and tokens.

I would try on the other maps platform Roll20 may work there
I have traversed all the outer planes- I have traversed all the inner planes- now I travel to the land of earth to ride an airplane.
