For creating battlemaps, there are tons of options out there, I use DungeonDraft, which is the one I liked the most. It has a unique style that I like, but it seems that it is also what turns some people away form it.
I tried using dungeonscrawl but it wouldnt let me print it, because it said that the file was damaged and the only way to print it was to pay a subscription.
I've been looking for a map builder with present day features. Streets, buildings, vehicles, etc. Does anyone know a good place to find those presets, or top-down images? Thanks!
Speaking from experience, the best map maker is... you! Unless you are online, making a map by hand is very rewarding and is sure to get you compliments from your players. A personal favorite thing to do is take a piece of paper, burn the edges with matches, dip it in a solution (2 parts water, 1 part black coffee) and let it dry (in paper towels, held down by a heavy flat object like a cutting board so it doesn't get warped as it dries) and then write your map on it. The result is fragile, but placing it in one of those clear plastic sleeves will do nicely. As for designing the map before making it, incarnate is great for that sort of thing.
Make sure you join their discord server though. The folks there are incredibly helpful. They also run regular livestreams on their Youtube channel which show the process of map making and how to create non-standard stuff. I've literally just finished designing a book cover using it. Seriously, it's a more powerful tool that people give it credit for. They've also got a 'Discover' page once you've signed in where people like myself post their own creations which you can edit or even download for your own use too.
The starter (core) assets will get you started for free, but when you can save enough the pro version is just $25 per year. Not exactly breaking the bank.
I picked up Dungeon Alchemist. It's got a BIT of a learning curve but it's not bad and it can make pretty nice maps when you get in and get going. It is limited on it's ability to do angled or curved walls (or was last I used it). However it is pretty dang good at providing lighting and and ambience and making some very very fun maps. It is not free but I don't regret the investment.
I tried all of these but it keeps crashing and I think that is because I’m not using a Mac or a pc, do you guys think that could be it.
Inkarnate works just fine on Linux (specifically both SteamDeck OS and FedoraKDE).
Can I then assume you're trying to use an android based phone or tablet? If so, then while it is true you get a warning message if on mobile (I tried using Chrome on a Z Flip 3), but it does seem to function well enough. Likewise, over time I've tried a few different browsers. Safari was the only one I really found issues with. I currently use LibreWolf, and the only untested browser for me at the moment is Vivaldi (as much as I want to support a non-US solution, it's UI is aggravating to me). Be aware however that my laptop has 16GB, my phone is 8GB, and my desktop is 32GB of RAM so it is possible that if I have higher RAM levels than you it is making a difference.
So it would perhaps be more helpful to let us know what OS you are using, and what browser. As Inkarnate is a browser-based service, in theory any device with enough RAM should do a fair job of it (I'd take a guess that 8GB of RAM is going to be the bare minimum you'll need).
By telling us what OS, what Browser, and what RAM level, we might be better able to give you recommendations of software that will fit your device.
Personally, I use Dungeon Scrawl; it's free and I find it fairly usable. Usually when I check out things that have a paid feature, the free version doesn't do enough for me. Dungeon Scrawl takes a little bit to figure out, but once you do, I think it works well. I usually just screenshot it and print it out. It doesn't save maps, which can be a problem. I hear excellent things about paid Inkarnate, but I'm too cheap for that...

It’s os26.1, I’m using google/chrome and it has 6GB.
So, an iPhone then?
Not sure why it would struggle so much, but then I've never gotten on well with Apple's phones. Perhaps there's someone out there who has an app for iPhones?
I’m trying to make some maps of regions, towns and dungeons and I was wondering if you guys know any good map makers.
Inkarnate.com has a good free version, and a better paid one.
I use it for all of my 2D mapmaking.

There are huge amounts of free maps available on the Reddit DND Maps forum.
This might cause the website to explode but.

Dungeon Alchemist is also good. It has an AI that will fill rooms with objects/light sources and lay them out reasonably well.

I'm looking for any map builder that doesn't make my brain hurt 😂! But in all seriousness I am looking for a map builder that can:
Does anyone know any good map builder like that? I spent an entire day looking and I'm so stuck 😂

I have a pile of them up to show off but I'm noticing now that they're locked behind a paywall; I need to get in and fix that.
